The San Diego Chargers have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with free agent linebacker Demorrio Williams, Adam Caplan of The Sideline View reports. Williams, 31, was released by the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday. In 60 games with the Chiefs, Williams racked up 216 tackles, one sack and eight passes defensed. Williams led the Chiefs with 117 tackles in 2009, but had just 37 tackles in 28 games in a reserve role the last two seasons. Originally selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the fourth round of the 2004 NFL Draft out of Nebraska, Williams has 567 tackles, 7.5 sacks and five interceptions during his 124-game career. Financial terms of his deal with the Chargers were not disclosed, but Williams was scheduled to earn $1.75 million in base salary with a $200,000 roster bonus and $50,000 in the final year of his contract with the Chiefs.

Jackie Battle: Player profile
On December 23rd, 2007, in a meaningless, diehards-only game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions, Jackie Battle received his first regular season carry in the NFL. The San Diego Chargers didn’t want to spend $13 million on WR Vincent Jackson
In one of the more perplexing moves this offseason, the San Diego Chargers did not place the franchise tag on WR Vincent Jackson. Who Knew Philip Rivers Was A Right-Wing Nutjob?
We’ve always thought San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers was pretty much a prick because he always seems to be yelling at someone or whining about something. Well, it turns out there’s a reason for his on-field antics — he’s out of his mind.
Rivers, you see, is into politics and today he threw his support behind conservative Republican presidential candidate Rick...
