In an effort to combat a recurring issue -- blackouts -- the Bolts have gone outside the box.
U-T San Diego reports the Chargers have partnered with Groupon, an online discount company, to sell additional tickets to this week's game versus the Panthers.
The package, which you can view here, runs $68 per person and includes “endzone-level seating” and a $20 voucher for food and drinks.
For comparison's sake, Ticketmaster offers the same ticket for $68 plus an $8.25 convenience fee and no additional voucher.
Groupon launched the deal on Monday, and the deadline to place your order for the "hard-hitting Week 15 showdown " (their words) is Saturday.
It's a bit of an unorthodox move by the organization, but they're running out of alternatives. Since 2010, eight of the team's 16 home games have been blacked out. They need to sell 13,000 additional tickets by Thursday to avoid a third straight blackout.
