The long list of Chargers not participating in practice Thursday read like a team encyclopedia. On Friday, there came a better sight. Running back Ryan Mathews (foot) and wide receivers Vincent Jackson (abdomen) and Malcom Floyd (groin) all participated in the open-to-media portion of practice and appear likely to play Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. Cornerback Quentin Jammer (hamstring) also worked out on the side. Tight end Antonio Gates and defensive ends Jacques Cesaire and Luis Castillo have not practiced all week and are not expected to play. The team will release official playing statuses following practice. A story update will follow. Thomas Hamstrung The Chargers defense may have one less running back to worry about. Rookie Daniel Thomas, widely viewed as the Dolphins' strongest between-the-tackles runner, aggravated a hamstring injury during Thursday's practice and did not participate Friday.
