Reportedly the San Diego Chargers will clean house at the end of the season.
Kevin Acee of U-T San Diego reports that general manager A.J. Smith and coach Norv Turner will be fired at the end of the season. According to Acce's sources, Chargers president Dean Spanos "essentially decided this a month ago that Turner's time was drawing to a rapid close."
Unlike last year, Spanos will not change his mind.
"Those with knowledge of plans that are already in motion said it seems certain there will be no last-minute change of heart this time," Acee wrote.
Acee reports that current Director of Player Personell Jimmy Raye will replace Smith as general manager. Raye's right-hand man will be the owners son, John Spanos. Raye has been with the Chargers for 17 seasons.
The Chargers will still owe Smith $4 million and Turner $3 million.
