The Victory Formation:
Chaz Schilens has struggled to latch on to a team in the NFL since being selected in the 7th-round of the 2008 Draft. He signed with the Lions just prior to training camp, and he has a very small chance of making their active roster. Regardless, while teammate Calvin Johnson is the greatest player on the team, Schilens has the most amazing tattoo on the team, and quite possibly the league. This tiger on his back is beautiful artwork that supposedly took 24 total hours to complete: Tip of the cap to Schilens reaching out to Detroit and embracing the best team in the city (who actually drafted him 10 years ago), but it probably won’t be enough to make the final cut with the Lions. Athletes generally seem to love tattoos, and Lions WR Chaz Schilens is no different. CBS Sports is reporting that Schilens spent time this off season getting a giant back tattoo of a tiger. A tiger you may wonder. Doesn’t Schilens play for the Lions after all? Paula Pasche was able to catch it up close and she tweeted this:
#Lions WR Chaz Schilens’ new tattoo took 24 hours...
Lions wide receiver Chaz Schilens got a tiger tattoo that covers his entire back.
Larry Brown Sports has the story.
According to Paula Pasche of The Oakland Press, the tattoo took 24 hours total to complete and had Schilens in the tattoo parlor on three separate occasions. While I don’t really understand the significance of the jungle-themed ink, I suppose it’s a good thing...
After being drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft and playing four nondescript seasons with the team, Chaz Schilens spent the 2012 campaign as a member of the New York Jets, where he put up 28 receptions in 15 games. Schilens has moved on once again, signing with […]The post Lions wideout gets huge tiger tattoo on back because same difference...
Detroit Lions wide receiver Chaz Schilens recently got a massive tattoo on his back, and the only things missing are Mowgli and Baloo. We have to assume he was going for a “The Jungle Book” theme, because he opted for a tiger over a lion and we hope he’s not showing support for the Cincinnati [...]
Wide receiver Chaz Schilens spent one forgettable season with the Jets in 2012. Now a member of the Lions he will see his former teammates tomorrow night.
It doesn’t sound like it will be a happy reunion. Schilens does not have fond memories of his time with the Jets.
“For me there?” Schilens said to the Detroit Free Press. “Really when it came down to it I kind of felt...

Chaz Schilens apparently didn't make too many fond memories during his one season with the Jets. The veteran wide receiver who signed with the Lions as a free agent took a couple of shots at the Jets as he prepares to face them Friday night in the preseason opener.
"For me there?" Schilens told the Detroit Free-Press. "Really when it came down to it I kind of...
Most teams will be drafting in the next 2-3 weeks but it is never too early to get your strategy together. Here are our top 25 receivers as it stands right now:
ALLEN PARK, Mich. Detroit Red Wings captain Nicklas Lidstrom, nicknamed The Perfect Human Being, always worked and prepared harder than anyone else. He seemingly never made mistakes and was admired for the way he lived his life off the ice, too.
Sound familiar, Lions fans?
Receiver Calvin Johnson is theNFL's version of theperfect human being. He set the record for most receiving...
There is never a dull day when it comes to the NY Jets. No one can really figure out which direction the team is heading in, and it seems as though a new player or former player comes out every day with nothing nice to say. USA Today is reporting that former WR Chaz Schilens has joined that Mark Sanchez bashing club. When asked about his one season with the Jets, Schilens had this...
(Eds: APNewsNow. Will be updated. With AP Photos.) By NOAH TRISTER AP Sports Writer Even in the preseason, Calvin Johnson is a marked man.
It's hard to say how much the Detroit wide receiver will play in Friday night's exhibition game against the New York Jets. But when he's lined up, fans should enjoy at least a brief glimpse of a one-on-one matchup between Johnson...
Herman Moore was my favorite wide receiver growing up. Calvin Johnson gets the nod for all-time favorite wide receiver nowadays, but Moore will always have a special place in my heart. That's why it was especially neat to see him catch a touchdown pass from my favorite Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford during training camp this past week.
See for yourself:
It's not getting any easier for Mark Sanchez.
Former Jets wide receiver Chaz Schilens didn't mince words when it came to his ex-quarterback.
"Really, when it came down to it, I kind of felt like they were looking for scapegoats and besides everyone except for, you know, maybe the quarterback position, and it was what it was," Schilens told USA Today on Wednesday...
