Found May 11, 2012 on Grits Blitz:
Over the last few days we've profiled some guys we are going to be watching at the Falcons rookie camp this weekend. One interesting note is that our second round pick Peter Konz is being cross-trained at center and guard. Also, Lamar Holmes is going to miss the camp with a minor (keep your fingers crossed) foot injury. Here's the skinny on day one from Falcons mini-camp from around the web. This guy will be watching from the sidelines Konz impresses on 1st day of Atlanta rookie camp: Peter Konz, a second-round draft pick from Wisconsin, looked the part of a potential NFL starter as the Falcons opened a three-day rookie minicamp Friday.   Mitchell fits: The Falcons drafted Charles Mitchell in the sixth round, and according to (Tim) Lewis, the former Mississippi State safety looks good early on... “He is doing a good job,” Lewis said. “It’s a learning process for them. Learning the terminology is the toughest thing right now. If I could just evaluate him athletically, he looks like he fits in. We can find a way to use his talents.”   FB Ewing could catch passes in 2012: Coach Mike Smith, after Day 1 of rookie minicamp, said FB Bradie Ewing could be used in the passing game this year: “He doesn't have the statistics in college....He does catch the football, catches it very well and has good hands.”   Is LB Matt Hanson a name to watch? He got cut by the Falcons last year on Sept 2nd but he's back and looks like he's looking good so far:
I'll have a post on Matt Hansen later this evening, but after one day, he's one of my dark horse roster favorites. @atlminicamp — Daniel Cox (@FalconsDCox) May 11, 2012
Apparently Peter Konz is bringing back the dirty bird:

Checking in on Falcons Rookie Camp (Day 2)

Peter Konz, Charles Mitchell, Bradie Ewing and Matt Hanson were among the names that made some noise during day one of the Atlanta Falcons rookie camp on Friday. When asked about day two, Mike Smith said it was too early to call out any standouts but said that he liked the overall energy. Let's take a look around the web at some of the guys who garnered press in day two: Massaquoi...

Matt Ryan hits the gym

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan is trying to achieve something that has eluded him since the start of his NFL career: win a playoff game.  So he’s been hitting the gym with a vengeance to work on his arm strength.  “I think we’re off to a good start,” said Ryan. “It’s weight training, getting in there and training with weights.  It’s learning to condition myself...

Falcons Rookie Camp Darkhorse: Dominique Davis

Yesterday, I featured an undrafted rookie free agent and rookie camp tryout invitee, tight end Aron White, as a possible darkhorse for a roster (or practice squad) spot for the Falcons this season. Today, let's take a look at another position. When we think about the quarterback position for the Falcons we think about stability. Matt Ryan has been solid as a starter. He still...

Falcons' Smith likes leaner version of Massaquoi

As a junior at Troy, Jonathan Massaquoi weighed about 260 pounds when he led the Sun Belt Conference with 131/2 sacks. As a senior last season, Massaquoi was up to 275 pounds, and he had only six sacks. Coach Mike Smith says the Atlanta Falcons were looking for the lighter version of Massaquoi when they selected the defensive end in the fifth round of last month's NFL draft...

Roddy White believes it’s worth if he can’t walk when his career is over

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White spoke out on Twitter with regards to the current controversy that’s been surrounding the game of football and it’s long-term negative affects on players. White made it clear that he isn’t happy about football players “killing” the game by speaking out about the long-term dangers of playing it. It’s crazy how football players are...

(Way too early) Atlanta Falcons 2012 Point Spreads

Earlier this week, Cantor Gaming (which runs several Vegas sportsbooks) released game by game point spreads for just about every NFL game. We understand that it's nowhere close to the season but I thought it would be interesting to take a look at where they have the Falcons slotted against their opponents as it stands right now. Odds are this place will be filled when the NFL...

Roddy White OK with the risks of football

Don't expect the Atlanta Falcons' Roddy White to join any lawsuits against the NFL after he retires regarding concussions. The outspoken wide receiver, one of the NFL's best, told his more than 90,000 followers on Twitter on Wednesday that he understands the health risks of his violent profession. Asked by one follower if he would ever trade his job for do anything...
