For the second straight week the Chicago Bears have a chance to prove their stock under the eye of a national audience. The Bears (7-2) look for the elusive statement win Monday night against host San Francisco (6-2-1).Chicago is reeling after a four-turnover affair in a 13-6 home loss to the Houston Texans last week. To add insult to injury, the Bears also lost franchise quarterback Jay Cutler due to a concussion. Jason Campbell, who was acquired in the off season on the first day of free agent signing, will get the nod Monday night. Cutler will remain at home in Chicago recuperating. The 49ers starting quarterback, Alex Smith, also suffered a concussion last week in a tie to the St. Louis Rams, but have since been cleared to play. It is still uncertain whether Smith will start, but he is expected to play.Without further ado here are my bold predictions for this Monday night clash:Jason Campbell has big game.It would be an understatement to say the Bears are in a far better positio...

Jay Cutler ‘felt bad’ for Jason Campbell

Jay Cutler missed Monday night’s Bears-49ers game because he was recovering from a concussion, and backup quarterback Jason Campbell struggled in his place. Campbell was sacked six times and pressured 11 times during the 32-7 loss. He went 14/22 for 107 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions in the loss, and his offensive line hardly afforded him a chance to compete against...

With Cutler sidelined, Bears fall short again

Jay Cutler was back home, nursing his concussion and watching as the Chicago Bears got pounded by the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night. Whether he'll be back behind center this weekend remains to be seen. ''That's the goal, and that's what we're hoping for,'' Cutler said Tuesday on ESPN Radio's ''Waddle & Silvy'' show....

Bears' Cutler not sure he'll play this week

CHICAGO (AP) -- Bears quarterback Jay Cutler says he is not sure if he will play this week after missing Monday's loss at San Francisco because of a concussion. Cutler says on ESPN Radio's "Waddle & Silvy" show that he's feeling "as normal as can be" and will play again this season. But he "can't say for sure" he'll be ready for...

Chicago Bears: Jay Cutler is the Heart and Soul of the Team

This is not going to be an article where stats are thrown at you or where I am going to have a lot of proof to back up the bold statement I am making and that is: Jay Cutler is the heart and soul of the Chicago Bears.Let’s start with last year. The Bears were 7-3 following the final game for Cutler in 2011, who broke his thumb on November 20th against the San Diego Chargers. The...

Bears Optimistic That Jay Cutler Should Be Back For Week 12

The Bears suffered a terrible defeat to 49ers last night, but they were without QB Jay Cutler who stayed behind after he suffered a concussion back in Week 10. Jason Campbell wasn’t able to get anything going against San Francisco’s defense, but that probably had something to do with the Bears inability to block anyone. Head coach Lovie Smith expressed some optimism that Cutler...

Shelved Jay Cutler Brings Bears Closer To Hibernation

Who knew what this Monday night matchup would be prior to week one. The possibilities exploded off the schedule until quarterback concussions and injuries occurred quicker than a Tony Romo interception. With Jake Cutler down and Alex Smith hoping for game-time medical approval, this game has definitely lost its luster. However, it remains larger than the injury reports. Six weeks...

The Greatest Chicago Bears post 49ers loss Memes Ever

This was one powerfully terrible game to watch, the San Francisco 49ers basically eviscerated the Bears 32-7 in a game that was never even a game. Alshon Jeffery exploded his knee,so that is always great for Bears morale considering everyone is injured. This just in, Jason Campbell blows. Let DA BEARS Meme’s ensue. Mike Ditka style, errrrr Mike Tice …errrrr Cutlerfak style....

NFC North: The Packers Damage Lions' Faint Playoff Hopes

Bear Breakdown: Phil Emery Has Put The Bears in the Right Position

Last year, after compiling a 7-3 record, the Bears appeared right on track toward making a playoff berth. Following a 31-20 win over the Chargers in Week 11, it was discovered that quarterback Jay Cutler broke his thumb and would likely be out for the remainder of the season. The Bears moved forward with backup Caleb Hanie. Then-General Manager Jerry Angelo felt strongly enough about...

Monday Night concussions

It’s the marquee Monday Night matchup of the season thus far: the 7-2 Chicago Bears, led by quarterback Jay Cutler, travelling to San Francisco to take on the 6-2-1 host 49ers, led by quarterback Alex Smith.   What a game! The Bears, the leaders in the NFC North, feature a take-no-prisoners defense that leads the league in takeaways. Their offense is inconsistent, but the...
