There are going to be some changes in 2012 for the Chicago Bears on offense and one of those changes could involve the club releasing veteran RB Marion Barber. Barber is currently under contract with the Bears through the 2012 season, but the team might decide to focus their efforts on RB Matt Forte and RB Kahlil Bell this offseason, with Barber and his salary being a salary cap casualty heading into 2012.
RB Matt Forte has voiced his displeasure with the Chicago Bears not offering him a new long-term contract this season and the two sides appear to be far apart in those discussions. Forte flirted with the option of holding out this season, but finally decided against that strategy. Forte suffered an injury late in the year and was unable to finish the 2011 season for the Bears.The Bears are expected to place the franchise tag on Forte if the two sides cannot reach a new deal.
