Although it was a tale of two halves in Jacksonville Sunday afternoon the Chicago Bears ultimately mauled the Jaguars, 41-3. Both team's first half offensive performances left a lot to be desired as they went into the locker room knotted at 3-3. However, prompted by normally soft spoken coach Lovie Smith's half time rant the Bears came out rejuvenated in the second half. "He basically cursed us out without cursing," Chicago cornerback Charles Tillman said."He raised his voice and gave us that mean, surly, stern look and we responded to that. He put a little spark in our rear end. We started getting to the quarterback in the second half. We were a little flat in the first half and came out with a sense of urgency."  Tillman's third quarter interception return for a touchdown again ignited the Bears outpouring of scoring. Also becoming the franchise's all time defensive touchdown leader with eight, Tillman's second pick six in as many weeks cata...

Chicago Bears destroy Jacksonville

Chicago Bears pummeled Jacksonville Sunday afternoon 41–3. While Cutler and the offensive line continue to find a groove, Urlacher and the defense are on fire.Cutler passed for 292 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. He was sacked once, not too bad considering the breakdown and recovery of the Bears offensive line. Forte carried 22 passes for 107 yards. Marshall picked...

Film Room Breakdown: The Tillman Pick-6

With a little extra time with the bye week, I was going to study several different spots in the Chicago game with the coach's film and discuss the finer points of the Xs and Os scenarios before we move on to the Baltimore Ravens. I am guessing that the team is taking quite the opposite approach since they obviously need to focus on only what they can control - looking forward...

Bears' defense keeps racking up points

How's this for an oddity? Charles Tillman and Lance Briggs have more touchdown catches than Calvin Johnson and as many as Larry Fitzgerald and Reggie Wayne. Well, sort of. Tillman and Briggs actually have two interception returns for touchdowns, and the Chicago Bears' defense has been racking up points of late at a rate that would make any high-powered offense envious...

Turning takeaways into TDs is part of Bears' philosophy

During the Chicago Bears' three-game winning streak, the defense has allowed just two touchdowns. But that's not even half the story of what has become one of the NFL's most dominating units. During those same three games, the defense has scored five touchdowns, just one fewer than the Chicago offense has produced in that span. Taking the ball away and then taking...

Bears heat up in second half to blow out Jaguars

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Chicago Bears survived the Florida heat and a slow start on offense for a rout of the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Cornerback Charles Tillman and linebacker Lance Briggs each returned interceptions for touchdowns for the second game in a row to spark the Bears to a 41-3 victory. It was the first time in NFL history that the same teammates...
