TEAMS: Chicago Bears
People in Chicago take the Chicago Bears quite seriously. Many businesses try really hard to leech off of the team’s  popularity and also bask in their reflected glory. We all hate spam. Hate it. Especially when it comes from a list we never signed up for in the first place. I received an email with “CHICAGO FOOTBALL IS BACK” in my inbox. It was in ALL CAPS to denote that it’s IMPORTANT and I must STOP WHATEVER I’M DOING RIGHT NOW AND READ IT. Inside the message was the real estate agent’s picture, name, phone number and email address. Along with this graphic: I wonder what the Chicago Bears would think of this blatant attempt to capitalize off them; with a business that has absolutely nothing to do with NFL team. I didn’t bother to out the name of the real estate agent or the realty firm because why should I give them any free publicity? Especially after they pulled off something this pathetic and stupid? And isn’t that child labor exploitation too? Just awful all around. Paul M....

Jay Cutler yells and curses at ball boy

The Chicago Bears are only playing in their second preseason game of the 2013 season but quarterback Jay Cutler is in mid-season grumpy form. Cutler was filmed during ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown show yelling at a ball boy to “give me the f*cking ball.”  Cutler than shakes his head in disapproval. Cutler is under a lot of pressure this year as he enters into the final year...

Jay Cutler happy to be in offense designed to limit sacks

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is very happy to be learning a new offense that is designed to limit sacks. New head coach Marc Trestman has implemented his offense, which focuses on pass protection and getting the ball out of the quarterback’s hands quickly. “You get rid of the ball,” said Cutler, who has been sacked 148 times in 56 games with the Bears. “You’re

Chicago Bears still playing musical chairs with offensive line?

From the Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs comes the tidbit that J’Marcus Webb is out at the right tackle position in favor of untested rookie fifth-rounder Jordan Mills. Earlier in the year, new Chicago Bears’ head coach Marc Trestman and offensive line coach Aaron Kromer shuffled the offensive line like a deck of canasta cards in one phase of an ongoing attempt to improve...

Chicago Bears Rookie Linebacker Jonathan Bostic Lays Some Serious Wood

It is going to be weird this season watching the Chicago Bears play without Brian Urlacher in the game, but if you can make any sort of judgement based off of preseason play they might have his replacement in rookie Jonathan Bostic. The former Florida Gator certainly gave Bears fans reason to take notice of him and forget that other guy when he put this hit on San Diego's...

Devin Hester happy to be just returning kicks, says ‘it was his decision’

Chicago Bears Devin Hester is practicing as a returner only and that had been the expectation since Marc Trestman was arrived in town. General manager Phil Emery is expecting a big season from Hester now that he can focus on returning.

Bears hold Peppers out for second straight game

Chicago Bears Pro Bowl defensive end Julius Peppers sat out his second straight preseason game because of a hamstring injury. Peppers was expected to play Thursday night against the San Diego Chargers, but the Bears held him out again after he sat out the preseason opener against the Carolina Panthers. Peppers has been practicing off and on for about two weeks because of the problem...

2013 Training Camp: Ford Has A Big Chance To Earn Roster Spot With Allen Out

Rookie running back Michael Ford has been battling for a roster since landing in the windy city on April 28. Now with Armando Allen week-to-week with a hamstring injury, Ford has a big chance to carve out a permanent place with the Chicago Bears. The 5'10", 216 pounder went undrafted out of LSU this year. The Bears were excited to add him to the mix because of his speed...

All eyes on Cutler as Bears meet Chargers

The first step for Jay Cutler was a bit wobbly. Maybe this one will be a little smoother. The Chicago Bears meet the San Diego Chargers on Thursday, and all eyes will remain on Cutler as he tries to adapt to new coach Marc Trestman's offense. ''We're moving along,'' Cutler said. ''I don't think I can pinpoint exactly where we're at, but we...

2013 Chicago Bears Helmet Schedule

Bears 33, Chargers 28

This new and supposedly improved offense is producing some awfully familiar results for the Chicago Bears. Jay Cutler looked shaky again and the defense made up for it, harassing Philip Rivers early on and setting the tone for the Bears in a 33-28 victory over the San Diego Chargers in a preseason game on Thursday night. All eyes remain on the quarterback after the Bears made some...
