Last week: 3 (+2) Record: 7-1 Back to this. I really broke my own rule by overreacting to the Bears’ near lose to the lowly Panthers and dropping them down even though I’ve never been sold on Atlanta. The Bears’ huge blowout win helped me see the light. Jay Cutler is now 12-1 in his last 13 games, which would be 12 in a row if you exclude their Thursday Night loss in Green Bay. Obviously, you can’t ignore that game, but it was a while ago, it was on short rest, and it was on the road against a tough opponent, so I don’t put much stock into it. They run the ball well. They play incredible defense, even though you can’t expect them to continue to score defensively at this rate the rest of the way because no one ever has. With guys like Julius Peppers, Henry Melton, Lance Briggs, Brian Urlacher, Charles Tillman, Tim Jennings, and Major Wright, they have so many talented defensive players. Offensively, they can run the ball, Jay Cutler is playing well. The only issue is the offensive li...

Bears' Tillman may miss game Sunday

Chicago Bears star cornerback Charles Tillman might miss Sunday's game against the Houston Texans because of the pending birth of his daughter. Tillman told Chicago radio station WSCR-AM that he might not be available because his wife, Jackie, is due to give birth to a girl - the couple's fourth child. Their daughter, Tiana, needed a heart transplant a few months after she...

Charles TIllman is the NFL Defensive Player of the Year!

After eight games in the regular season it is clear that Chicago Bears cornerback Charles "Peanut" Tillman is on track to be the NFL's defensive player of the year.  It is hard to deny the impact that Tillman has made in the early part of the Bears schedule with his 43 tackles, 2 interceptions (both of which he returned for touchdowns), 7 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble...

Tillman right on about family matters

Charles Tillman said that if his wife goes into labor Sunday, he won't play in the Chicago Bears game against Houston. You know what that makes him? Good. Very, very good. I'd give the idea one Facebook-like right now. Thumbs up. Mike Florio, of NBC and Pro Football Talk wouldn't. He said that football players should plan their "nine-month family expansion activities...

Charles Tillman Should Be Applauded, Not Criticized, for Potentially Missing Game to See Child’s Birth

There are some moments in a man’s life that are cherished. Believe it or not, however, some might say that playing the Houston Texans in Week 10 of the NFL schedule is not one of those moments, at least not compared to say, seeing the birth of a child. With that obviously in mind, Bears cornerback Charles Tillman has already said that if his wife goes into labor this weekend, Tillman...

Charles Tillman’s ‘Family First’ Philosophy Should be Applauded

Charles “Peanut” Tillman, who is having a MVP-like season for the 7-1 Chicago Bears’ defense, has come under fire for saying he may miss Sunday Night’s huge match-up against the Texans if his wife goes into labor.  The Bears defense is as good as it gets this season, and Peanut is an essential ingredient to its continued success.   Let it be known that the stones which...

Tillman expected to play Sunday

Even with his daughter due any day now, Bears cornerback Charles Tillman is expected to play this weekend, meaning Chicago's defense will be at full strength against the Houston Texans.

Chicago Bears, Not 49ers or Falcons, Are NFC's Best Team

Right now the Chicago Bears are the best team in the NFC. The Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers fans will disagree but right now they are wrong!  Both of those teams have been very impressive in the first half of the season, but they do not have the X-factors that the Bears do.  Not to mention when the Bears and 49ers play a week from this coming Monday the Bears will show...

Bears-Texans Showdown Figures to Be NFL’s Game of the Season, As Two Teams Have Been Very Impressive

It’s the game of the season so far in the NFL on Sunday — with every team at least at its midway point — when the Houston Texans visit the Chicago Bears in a matchup of 7-1 Super Bowl contenders. The Bears opened as the slightest one-point favorites at Bovada, but considering home-field advantage is generally worth three points in the NFL, the Texans may be the pseudo-favorites...

Bear Breakdown: Charles Tillman Is Just Flat Out Ridiculous This Season

Chicago Bears cornerback Charles Tillman has quietly been a star since he came into the NFL in 2003. He finally got his recognition last season when he was voted to the Pro Bowl. He racked up a career high 99 tackles, while adding three interceptions and four forced fumbles in 2011. The guy can just flat out play football and the Bears new that when they selected him in the second...

Texans to Watch: Bears Edition

The 7-1 Houston Texans face the 7-1 Chicago Bears Sunday night at Soldier Field in a marquee matchup of top teams.  Both teams are in first place – with the Bears leading the NFC North and the Texans topping the AFC South, and both teams only lost came to the Green Bay Packers. “It’s the perfect situation, a great Sunday night on a big stage,” said Chicago Bears’ Pro Bowl...

Suh again voted NFL's dirtiest player

The results are in and Ndamukong Suh is still considered the dirtiest player in the NFL. Suh received the top votes in a players poll conducted by The Sporting News for the second consecutive year. He received 32 votes from 103 players, slightly down from 36 votes from 111 players last year. The Nebraska lineman has become known for his nasty side since coming into the league...
