Found November 05, 2012 on Chicks in the Huddle:
Oh, this 2-5 season has me so down in the dumps, I hardly know what to do with myself. There are times that I am so angry with the Saints that I want to write each one from our coaches to players and ball boys and ask them why they are doing this to me. What have I done in my past life that is (or was) so horrid that I’ve befallen this less-than-500 fate? This doesn’t even take into account that those nasty stinking pigeons from Atlanta are undefeated. When I think of that, my head starts to implode and I search for my smelling salts. One way that I’ve dealt with my recent entry into this new realm of utter depression and ammonium- sniffing is to throw my attention and effort elsewhere–to an event that combines some of my greatest loves: my son, the Little Rooster, the Saints, and fantastic eats.  The Muscle Team®, presented by Rouses Markets, is a high profile MDA signature event to raise funds for the local chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The concept of Muscle Team®...

Report: Tom Benson is considering making Sean Payton the highest paid NFL head coach

According to Mike Freeman of CBS Sports, New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson is considering making Sean Payton the highest paid NFL head coach. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is currently the highest paid head coach in the league by earning $7.5 million per season. Benson, I’m told, has long thought of Payton as the best coach in football. It was Payton, of course, who made...

Saints coach Sean Payton's contract voided by NFL

Sean Payton's multiyear contract extension, which he signed in 2011 with the New Orleans Saints has been voided by the NFL because of the language in it, making the suspended coach a possible free agent after this season, according to the NFL.com. "Our office has made no determination on Sean Payton's's contract status with the Saints for next year," NFL...

Report: Sean Payton Visited Cowboys' Team Hotel

Take it for what it's worth, but there has been chatter within NFL sources this morning that Sean Payton was visiting the Cowboys' team hotel earlier today.  News swept the sporting world this morning when reports surfaced that the NFL voided his contract with the Saints. Almost immediately, speculation about Payton and the Cowboys began given his previous time with Dallas...

Saints Injury Report: Darren Sproles, Courtney Roby, Jimmy Graham

The New Orleans Saints will enter tonight’s contest against the Philadelphia Eagles without running back Darren Sproles and wide receiver Courtney Roby, but tight end Jimmy Graham has been removed from the team’s injury report and will be full-go. The Saints announced Sproles’ injury early last week, and it was later revealed that his broken hand would require surgery...

Jimmy Graham Looking Healthy Again

Saints tight end Jimmy Graham looks to be recovered from his ankle sprain. The tight end has found the end zone in each of the last two weeks while catching 13 passes.Fantasy Spin:Graham has scored a touchdown in five of his six healthy games this season. He's still one of Drew Brees' top targets and will battle Rob Gronkowski for the top tight end spot in fantasy for the...

Waiver Wire: Chris Ivory

It’s about time Juan… Chris Ivory was activated for the first time this season and looked great running the ball against the Eagles.  I mean how many good RBs does this team have?  Ivory ran hard with 10 rushed for 48 yards and a TD.  It’s clear the Saints wanted to get Ivory involved in the gameplan and he just looks better than Mark Ingram, who also ran hard.  If Sproles...

Saints HC Sean Payton Could Be A Free Agent After NFL Voids His Contract

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that NFL has voided the contract of Saints head coach Sean Payton. Payton signed a three-year extension that had him under contract through the 2015 season. The league voided the deal because it included a clause that would have allowed Payton to walk away from the deal if GM Mickey Loomis was suspended, fired or left the New Orleans organization...

Brees, Robinson lead Saints past Eagles 28-13

Two teams with the same record. Two teams heading in strikingly different directions. Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints appear to be on the rise again. Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles are down, and nearly out. Brees threw two touchdown passes, extending his NFL record streak to 51 games in a row, while Vick was sacked seven times and took an awful beating as the Saints...

Saints hand Eagles fourth straight loss

Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints are having fun again. They hope it's a sign of things to come in the second half of the season. Michael Vick kept picking himself up off the Superdome turf, the recipient of an awful beating. The Philadelphia Eagles are down -- and nearly out. Brees threw two touchdown passes, extending his NFL record streak to 51 games, and Patrick Robinson...

Glazer: Sean Payton 'plans' to remain with Saints

Embattled coach Payton remains committed to New Orleans despite recent reports.

2 quarterbacks, 2 increasingly desperate teams

Michael Vick and Drew Brees came into the NFL the same year. Now, they're in the same predicament. Both are the quarterbacks of increasingly desperate teams, the season teetering on the edge of collapse. Brees has essentially become a one-man show for the New Orleans Saints (2-5), who are plagued by a historically leaky defense and anemic running game. For Vick, the stakes...

Saints Nation: Defensive and Special Teams Player Grades vs. Eagles

If you had told me before the game that the Saints would sack Michael Vick 7 times and hold the Eagles to 7 points, I would have laughed in your face. If you told me they'd yield 447 yards, I'd absolutely believe you. If you told me both would happen, I'd probably seek to have you institutionalized. But that's exactly what happened oddly enough. Make no mistake, the...

Saints 28, Eagles 13

NEW ORLEANS -- So much for players-only meetings. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick used the occasion of his team's three-game October nosedive to bring his teammates behind closed doors last week in an attempt to hash out their woes. After a 28-13 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Monday night -- the Eagles' fourth consecutive defeat and fifth in six games...
