A few days ago, Romeo Crennel made a couple of remarks regarding two players — Peyton Manning and Chad Henne — that are still under contract with their respective teams.
That’s a big no-no to the NFL, who may now have no choice but to take action.
According to the Kansas City Star, Crennel is facing a fine and the Chiefs could be stripped of a draft pick for possible tampering charges made during the Combine Saturday.
During a news conference, Crennel was asked about Manning and if he’d consider bringing the quarterback aboard.
He responded, “I’m not supposed to talk about anyone else’s players. He’s still a player with Indianapolis. But with a talent like that, I would be crazy not to consider it if he were available. I’ll leave it at that.”
On the subject of Henne, who’d be reunited with offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, Crennel said, “Because of his relationship with Daboll, I think that would be a consideration. To say right now that would be the case, I’m not ready to do
