On the Steelers’ second play, Ben Roethlisberger completed a 49 yard pass to Antonio Brown. A few player later, Steelers Kicker Shaun Suisham knocked through a 28 yard field goal to put the Steelers up by 3 early. On the Chiefs next drive, they turned the ball over on downs deep on their side of the field, setting up the Steelers on the Chiefs 21 yard line. And then the Steelers first team offense finally found the endzone. Ben Roethlisberger tossed a pass to Jonathan Dwyer for a 13 yard touchdown, and the Steelers went up 10-0. The Chiefs blocked a Steelers 52 yard field goal attempt. On the next play, Alex Smith scrambled for 36 yards. A few plays later, the Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop connected on a 19 yard field goal with 3:01 left in the half, lessening the Steelers lead to 10-3. The Chiefs started their next drive with a bit of change over 1:00. The Chiefs went 62 yards for a TD to tie the game up. Alex Smith passed to Juinor Hemingway for 5 yards to score. The Chiefs running back Knile Davis fumbled on Kansas City’s first offensive drive. Troy Polamalu recovered the ball; Brett Keisel forced the fumble. The Steelers did not capitalize on the turnover, and came away with no points on their next drive. Later on, the Steelers scored on a 34 yard play action pass from Bruce Gradkowski to Markus Wheaton to make the score: Steelers 17-10 with 2:06 left in the third quarter. Then on the kickoff, Knile Davis returned the ball 109 yards, from the back of the endzone for a touchdown. On the Steelers first drive of the 4th quarter, Shaun Suisham made a 27 yard field goal to put the Steelers up 20-17. Instead of kicking a field goal when down by 3, the Chiefs went for it on 4th down on the Steelers’ 31 yard-line with 7:14 left in the game. On the Chiefs’ next drive, Ryan Succop made a 38 yard FG to make it 20-20 with 1:32 left in the game. The Cheifs ended the game in OT on a touchdown pass from Chase Daniel . Ben Roethlisberger played very well. He threw for 166 yards and a touchdown. He could’ve had two TD passes, if Emmanuel Sanders would’ve held onto a beautifully thrown ball. Alex Smith also had a good game. Smith completed 17 of 24 passes, and tossed a touchdown. Smith even led the Chiefs to a touchdown with 3 minutes left in the first half. Need NFL Tickets? Loading...
