Chiefs make Skyy Moore roster move ahead of Bills playoff game

Skyy Moore has only been able to watch the Kansas City Chiefs from the sidelines as they’ve made the run to the Divisional Round. But as the Chiefs look to take down the Buffalo Bills and advance in the playoffs, Moore is getting closer to his return.

Kansas City has opened the 21-day practice window on Moore, via Adam Schefter of ESPN. While he isn’t officially cleared for the Divisional Round, the wide receiver is practicing on Wednesday.

Moore has been out since Week 15 with a knee injury. He had been stashed on IR as Kansas City waited for the swelling to go down. Now, Moore is at least healthy enough to practice. Leading up to their matchup against the Bills, the Chiefs will try to get their former second rounder on the field.

Unfortunately for the franchise, Moore hasn’t exactly lived up to his billing since getting selected No. 54 overall in 2022. In 30 games since joining the team, Moore has caught 43 passes for 494 yards and a touchdown. In 2023, he caught 21 passes for 244 yards and his score.

While Moore has struggled to find his footing, so have many of the Chiefs’ wide receivers in 2023. Heading into the playoffs, no pass catcher outside of Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice had 500+ receiving yards. Rice and Justin Watson were the only wide receivers with three or more touchdowns.

Skyy Moore may not be Patrick Mahomes’ first or second option, but he is an option. Getting him back on the field against the Bills would give the Chiefs an intriguing weapon on offense.
