Chiefs’ owner’s daughter drops eye-opening take on Harrison Butker issue

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker found himself in some hot water this week after his eye-opening comments at Benedictine College’s graduation ceremony, essentially saying women should be most excited about being “homemakers”. In case you missed it, here’s what he said:

“I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolic lies told to you,” Butker said. “Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world. I can tell you that my beautiful wife Isabelle would be the first to say her life truly started when she started living her vocation as a wife and as a mother.”

Wild, right? There were mixed feelings on it, with many not happy, while others were in support of Butker’s comments. He also bashed abortion and how President Biden handled the COVID-19 pandemic. Butker spoke his mind.

Well, the daughter of Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, Gracie Hunt, was not bothered by the remarks, relating to Butker’s message:

“Well, I can only speak from my own experience, which is I’ve had the most incredible mom who had the ability to stay home and be with us as kids growing up. And I understand that there are many women out there who can’t make that decision,” Hunt said. “But for me and my life, I know it was really formative and in shaping me and my siblings into who we are.”

You can understand where Hunt is coming from because of how she grew up. She was fortunate enough to have her mother at home for all of her youth because of the family wealth. But, that is not the case for everyone.

What else did Chiefs’ kicker Harrison Butker say?

Butker, a catholic, clearly doesn’t support much of anything Biden has done or is doing as POTUS. He called Pride Month a “deadly sin sort of pride that has a month dedicated to it,” and said Biden is “delusional” when it comes to abortion.

“He has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies that I’m sure to many people it appears that you can be both Catholic and pro-choice,” he said.

“He is not alone. From the man behind the COVID lockdowns, to the people pushing dangerous gender ideologies onto the youth of America, they all have a glaring thing in common — they are Catholic. This is an important reminder that being Catholic alone doesn’t cut it.”

Should women not have the right to decide what they want to do with their bodies? In Butker’s eyes, he essentially believes every baby should be born, no questions asked.

The NFL did end up responding to the Chiefs kicker’s comments and made it clear they’re committed to inclusion:

“Harrison Butker gave a speech in his personal capacity,” Jonathan Beane, the NFL’s senior vice president and chief diversity and inclusion officer said. “His views are not those of the NFL as an organization. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger.”

Butker’s jersey sales passed Patrick Mahomes and now sit as one of the NFL’s best-sellers after his comments.

Go figure.
