The Kansas City Chiefs have placed wide receiver Dwayne Bowe on injured reserve before Sunday’s battle with AFC West rival Oakland Raiders after the 6-2, 221-pound wide out reportedly suffered broken rips in last week’s loss against the Cleveland Browns. Bowe, 28, signed a one-year franchise tender earlier this year and absent a new contract with the team or the second application of the franchise tag, he will become a free agent in March. To keep him for the 2013 season, the Chiefs would have to offer him a one-year guaranteed deal worth more than $11 million, according to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com.
