Chiefs' president says team will 'react accordingly' to Rashee Rice investigation

On Saturday, a car registered or leased to Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice was involved in a multi-car collision. The occupants of the car reportedly left the scene.

"The occupants of the Lamborghini and the Corvette all ran from the scene without stopping to determine if anyone needed medical help or providing their information," police told The Dallas Morning News.

According to NBC News' Doha Madani and Elisha Fieldstadt, police are looking to speak with Rice as they begin their investigation of the major accident which took place in Dallas.

Chiefs president Mark Donovan addressed the situation in an interview with KCMO on Monday morning.

"In all these situations you have to wait until you have all the facts and frankly, we don't have all the facts at this point," Donovan said via NBCNews.com. "The one comforting fact that we do have is that there was a multi-car crash in Texas, in Dallas, and fortunately, it doesn't appear that anyone was hurt, and we should be grateful for that. We'll get to the bottom of it, we'll gather the facts and we'll react accordingly."

No major injuries were reported, according to police, but two people were treated at the scene and two others were taken to a local hospital.

It is still unknown if Rice was driving or in the car as police have not identified any of the people involved in the crash.

Rice, who grew up in the Dallas area, was a second-round pick by the Chiefs in the 2023 NFL Draft and played a big role in Kansas City's Super Bowl run, logging the most receptions for a rookie in postseason history (26).

Depending on what police find, the NFL may be the one to lay down a punishment for Rice rather than the Chiefs themselves. If there is discipline to be imposed, it depends on the facts, as Donovan stated.
