Cleveland coming to Philly? First reported by CSNPHILLY.COM’s Geoff Mosher, the Eagles have hired Billy Davis as their new Defensive Coordinator. Davis who was Cleveland’s linebackers coach last season comes with coordinator experience holding that position with Arizona in 09-10 and San Francisco from 05-06. While in charge of those defenses, Davis has had mediocre results, never ranking above 14th in points allowed or 20th in yards. Davis has become the second hire from Cleveland, the first being Pat Shurmur who was hired to be the offensive coordinator for the Eagles. The anticipation leading up to this hiring one would have expected more than getting Cleveland Brown discards. Davis who coached the linebackers was part of a defense that ranked 19th with 368 points allowed and ranked 12th in at plus 3 in giveaway/takeaways. Shurmur who is now the Eagles Offensive Coordinator behind a 24th ranked offense was 5-11. This is what we waited for from new Eagles Coach Chip Kelly? Building a winner is hard to see after this the second of two hirings from a bad organization. I can only hope Chip Kelly like Andy Reid is smarter than everyone else and knows something that their record isn’t showing.  Similar Posts: Chip Kelly in as Eagles Head Coach Eagles odds and ends: the Superbowl, Foles, Vick, patience?
