Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly says he is not in a rush to name a starting quarterback (Credit: AP Photo) If you are hoping to know the Philadelphia Eagles week one starter anytime soon, you are in for a long wait. Today, Eagles head coach Chip Kelly says he is in no hurry to name a starting quarterback. While Michael Vick should have the inside track for the starting position, the team still has Nick Foles, Dennis Dixon and recently drafted rookie Matt Barkley. Kelly is hoping to get more tape on each player before making a decision on who will start. “It’s can we get a ton of reps, get them on tape, that will go through training camp and what not,” Kelly recently told reporters, via quotes distributed by the team.  “When you have to make an important decision on who a starter is going to be in some position, I don’t think it’s why should we jump to conclusions?  Why do we need to name a starting quarterback in May?  I mean, we’re going to take the full amount of time that we have to make a thorough evaluation of what we do.  When you make big decisions like that, I don’t think you want to make a rash decision. You want to give everybody the opportunity to see what they do. “Right now we haven’t done a thing in front of officials.  We haven’t done anything except we’ve had three days of voluntary minicamp before the draft, and today was our seventh OTA.  So none of us have had any thoughts of ‘Hey, we’ve got to get a guy named by a certain point in time.’  It will play itself out.  It will play itself out over the course of time when we’ve had an opportunity to make a thorough evaluation.  It is a big decision.  When you make a big decision, you have to take your time and let it play itself out on the field.  So we’re not looking at it like that.  They rotate on a daily basis.” The starting position has to be between Michael Vick and Nick Foles. With the recent injury history of Vick, there is a chance that both players will start throughout the upcoming season. DeSean Jackson's gal cooks him breakfast

This just in: Being DeSean Jackson? It’s a good gig if you can get it. Has anyone ever mentioned that it must be pretty damn awesome to enjoy the many fringe benefits that go along with being an NFL player? And that’s on top of the absurd amount of money that tumbles into a pro [...]The post DeSean Jackson posts photo of model girlfriend cooking him breakfast (pic) appeared first...

Chip Kelly’s offense might lead to more touches for DeSean Jackson

According to ESPN’s John Clayton, Chip Kell’t uptempo offense should present more oppurtunites for wide receiver DeSean Jackson to get the ball in his hands more this coming season. One fact that Clayton brought up is that Jackson has never caught more than 62 passes in a single season. It also sounds like Jackson might get some carries out of the back field. It's Avant's time to step up or be left behind...

A lot of PR juice out there about Eagles' WR Jason Avant being challenged to step up and take over a leadership role not just on the offense but on the team... That's a lot of pressure to put on a guy who's simply trying to make the team. It sure doesn't help when your new head coach says, "Hey buddy! How's about taking some reps at cornerback?"...

Don't count on Kenny Phillips... at least for now...

It's an all too familiar scenario for the Eagles secondary coaches in recent years... a once-great but now injured veteran safety is signed on a low-risk high-reward contract ...and it ends up going nowhere. It's too early to throw Kenny Phillips under the bus... but it's not looking real good right now. The former New York Giant did not practice for the Eagles...
