Chip Kelly's debut as head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles was a good one. His newly implemented offense exploded for 322 yards and 21 first downs on just 53 plays in the first half of Monday night's nationally televised win at Washington. For most, it was a mighty impressive display of offense, and reminiscent of the way Kelly's offenses at Oregon ran all over opposing defenses. But don't think Kelly is satisfied just yet. “I felt like it was slow,” Kelly said Tuesday. It may have been slow by his standards, but Philadelphia's offensive tempo in the first half was about as fast-paced as anyone had ever seen in the NFL. So, maybe Kelly was just joking around? “I’m not joking,” Kelly said. “We need to do a better job. We left the ball on the ground too much. We didn’t get the ball to the officials. We could have sped things up from a process in between plays. That’s something we need to work on.” Okay, it turns out he was not kidding. If Kelly believes what we saw Monday night was slow, I cannot wait to see what he believes is fast. Via Pro Football Talk

Chip Kelly’s high powered offense goes limp in the 4th quarter, but the Eagles held on for his first NFL win.

Chip Kelly showed the world that his high-powered offense can work in the NFL. The Eagles beat the Washington Redskins in Kelly’s first NFL regular season game. Philadelphia wasted little time jumping out to a 12 point first quarter lead. Michale Vick threw for 203 yards and 2 touchdowns and didn’t do something we are used to seeing him do. He didn’t throw any interceptions...

Questions about the Philadelphia Eagles season begin to be answered tonight

Philadelphia Eagles football is back. It’s a celebration! It’s finally here. Game day for the Philadelphia Eagles. It’s like Christmas in September. It’s a great matchup to launch the season’s Monday night games. Chip Kelly’s NFL debut versus the unveiling of Robert Griffin III following 8 months of rehab. Is he truly healthy? Who will prevail? The innumerable questions...

Michael Vick was “hobbling” after Monday night’s win

According to CSNPhilly.com,  Eagles quarterback Michael Vick was seen hobbling after last night’s win over the Redskins. Vick had a great game, but took way too many shots and failed to protect himself, which isn’t a surprise given his injury history. I find it really interesting that Eagles head coach Chip Kelly and Vick aren’t worried about him getting injured.  Sadly enough...

Philadelphia Eagles Take Advantage of Sloppy Redskins

Robert Griffin hasn’t seen game action in about nine months, and it was quite evident last night. The Washington Redskins had three first quarter turnovers last night in their 33-27 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Yeah the Eagles offense looked good, but the Redskins look awful. If you turn over the ball three times in the first quarter you leave the door open for the opposing...

Michael Vick Throws A Laser TD To DeSean Jackson (Video)

Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles are going to run a few teams out of the building this season. Vick may not be the most accurate passer in the game, but still might have the strongest arm in the league after this bullet on a rope touchdown pass to DeSean Jackson. Michael Vick is too valuable to run Chip Kelly's offense

As exciting as Chip Kelly’s offense in Philadelphia may be, it may already be on its way out. The reason? Michael Vick, the player the offense absolutely cannot function without, is taking way too many hits already, and it seems unlikely he’ll last an entire season. “We saw Vick limping around. Vick's not gonna last,” former general manager Charley Casserly said Tuesday...

Helfrich meets the press, talks Kelly win and Tennessee bulk

From the Eugene Register-Guard, Mark Helfrich's regular Tuesday press conference. He talks about Tennessee's size and speed, and the impact of Chip Kelly's regular season NFL debut with the Philadelphia Eagles, a 33-27 victory in which Kelly's offense scorched Washington for 443 yards.

Eagles' Vick must find way to stay on field

For this entire season Michael Vick will only be as good as his last play. The unfortunate but undeniable reason for this is Vick’s last play every game actually could be his last play. Vick just hasn’t been able to stay on the field. Since taking the starting job from Kevin Kolb early in the 2010 season Vick has missed 13 starts with the Eagles because of injury. Last year...

Chip Kelly Says He Can’t Make Mike Vick Slide

Lost in the euphoria of Chip Kelly’s first win as Eagles head coach was the fact that Michael Vick seems determine on injuring himself. There were several instances of Vick diving head first on runs and trying to block downfield. Not very smart on his part and was one of the reasons he was seen limping into the locker room after the game. What does Chip Kelly think about this?...

Chip Kelly gets first NFL win as Eagles speed past Redskins

Fast. Explosive. Up-tempo. I could go on and on with about how the Philadelphia Eagles offense was lightning quick. Right out of the gate Eagles QB Michael Vick pushed down on the accelerator and Chip Kelly’s offense was striking from all sides of the field. From running back LeSean McCoy’s thundering runs to Vick’s quick passes to DeSean Jackson. The Washington Redskins could...

Wonderful Win for Eagles, 33-27... but now the league has tape on us...

Tremendous lift for the franchise Monday night, getting the "W" over the Redskins... but much needs to be addressed. In a post-game interview, Mike Vick said the Eagles only unveiled "about 60%" of their "high-octane" offense against the Redskins... But that may be more than enough for the rest of the league to decipher. I can imagine being a...

Fantasy Fix: 5 Up/5 Down - Vick-Torius Birds Hit Warp Speed

Monday night football is back, Fantasy Footballer’s. Two games? Philly/DC and San Diego/Houston both proved highly entertaining and, more importantly, highly profitable for us needing a Fantasy Fix. Pass the Advil, I’ve got a pigskin hangover. I kid, I kid. Personally, I can’t get enough of the NFL. With apologies to Hank Williams Jr, while we may have been ready for some football...

Chip found the lightning...now all he needs is the bottle...

High-speed execution by supreme athletes on offense is the lightning... and the bottle is smart judgement on when to rein it in. Sometimes you have to throw away a play...and live for the next down. It's a situational thing. If Chip Kelly can get his boys to take it up a notch from here to there, look out...  You could see the enthusiasm in the Kelly game plan...

Have The Eagles Emerged As The Favorite In The NFC East?

It has become only natural for everyone to overreact after Week 1 of the National Football League (NFL) season. For the fans of winning teams, it marks the beginning of their team's quest for a Super Bowl title. For the fans of losing teams, it means the sky is falling down and it's time to push the panic button. Regardless of which end of the spectrum the fans are on, it...
