Chip Kelly's debut as head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles was a good one. His newly implemented offense exploded for 322 yards and 21 first downs on just 53 plays in the first half of Monday night's nationally televised win at Washington. For most, it was a mighty impressive display of offense, and reminiscent of the way Kelly's offenses at Oregon ran all over opposing defenses. But don't think Kelly is satisfied just yet. “I felt like it was slow,” Kelly said Tuesday. It may have been slow by his standards, but Philadelphia's offensive tempo in the first half was about as fast-paced as anyone had ever seen in the NFL. So, maybe Kelly was just joking around? “I’m not joking,” Kelly said. “We need to do a better job. We left the ball on the ground too much. We didn’t get the ball to the officials. We could have sped things up from a process in between plays. That’s something we need to work on.” Okay, it turns out he was not kidding. If Kelly believes what we saw Monday night was slow, I cannot wait to see what he believes is fast. Via Pro Football Talk
