Well deserved eh? RT @brian_mcintyre: RT @rliunfl: NFC Defensive Player of Week 3: #Seahawks DE Chris Clemons

Quote: Chris Clemons has bagged another one.

Not another sack, but his four-sack explosion in the second quarter of the Seahawks’ victory over the Packers on Monday night has earned Clemons NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

“I don’t know how a guy gets four sacks in one half,” coach Pete Carroll said after the game. “A tremendous job by those guys – and the two edge guys rushing, they feed off one another.”

The other edge guy is rookie Bruce Irvin, who had two sacks in the first quarter. Nose tackle Brandon Mebane added two more, giving the Seahawks eight sacks of Aaron Rodgers in the first half.

“I know that Bruce got started first and as they teed it up, it went nuts for us,” Carroll said.

No one was nuttier than Clemons, who had 11 sacks in each of his first two seasons with the Seahawks.

His four sacks tied the club single-game record and also the NFL mark for most sacks in the first half of a game. Clemons has five sacks for the season, which ranks third in the league behind the Packers’ Clay Matthews (six) and Texans’ J.J. Watt (5.5).

This is the first weekly honor for a Seahawks player this season. Clemons won the award in Week 11 last season, when wide receiver Doug Baldwin (Week 14) and since-departed middle linebacker David Hawthorne (Week 13) also were honored.

Seattle Seahawks, Replacement Referees Make Great Team

It was fourth and last chance, throw it up, and pray. I had all but turned the television off, exasperated at another chance for Seattle to make a statement on a national stage.I watched helplessly as Russell Wilson scrambled right, perform the five d's of dodge ball, dodge, duck, dip, dive, dodge, and throw a bomb to the back left corner of the end zone.Who would have known...

Seattle Seahawks at St. Louis Rams: Week 4 NFL Pick

Seattle Seahawks (2-1) at St. Louis Rams (1-2) I love to exploit home/road discrepancies so the Seahawks are one of my favorite teams to bet. Since 2007, they are 29-14 ATS at home and 14-28 ATS on the road. Riding that trend is the reason why I’ve selected every Seahawks game correctly this year and for significant units as well. Going on the road to St. Louis this week, I plan...

Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks denied great game
