Chris Cooley caught on with the Redskins for the final ten games of the 2012 season. Now the 30-year-old Cooley is not quite ready to call it a career.
“I’m just hanging out and waiting to see what’s going on,” he told the Washington Examiner.
Cooley was cut at the end of training camp last season and then brought back after Fred David went down with an injury. Used sparingly Cooley caught one pass for eight yards.
“We’ll see what happens in the spring. There’s always that situation of staying in good shape and being a guy that’s around sometime halfway through the year. I’ve known a lot of guys that have done it.”
It is highly unlikely that Cooley would return to the Redskins. Washington hopes to have Davis back along with Logan Paulsen.
“I’m not sure what the consensus on my health is around the league. I know how I felt but I don’t know what people think of me,” he said. “I’m getting the idea that people think I’m done physically, which I’m not. I’m in great shape. I c

Report: Washington Restructures Santana Moss’ Contract
David Elfin reports that the Redskins have restructured WR Santana Moss‘ contract.
This should free up an additional $2 million in space for a team that is reportedly targeting free agent cornerbacks.

While talking with the media on Monday, Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan was asked how Robert Griffin III was doing with his rehab and if he’ll be ready for the 2013 season opener.
“Is he going to be ready? I have no idea,’ said Shanahan.
Shanahan did confirm that Griffin is ahead of schedule with his rehab, so there’s that.
