Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson recently told Jim Wyatt of the Tennesseean that he could outrun Jamaican Olympic Gold Medal winner Usain Bolt, albeit under certain conditions.

“I feel like if I would have kept training for track I’d have a chance, but I play football and he runs track, so it’s totally different,” he said. “I think I could still probably beat him in the 40. If I actually trained for the distance he trained for, I think I’d have a chance.”

“Training for football, we do a lot of short sprints — we do 40s and 50s and things like that. We don’t really train like track athletes,” Johnson said. “If a track athlete tried to come play football it would be totally different [for Bolt].”

Johnson's fast, but not faster than Bolt. Chris was clocked at 4.24 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine in 2008, the fastest time ever, but that was 4 years ago.

A story back in March reported that the two actually were planning some sort of charity race against each other, but Bolt's agents denied the story. Seems like Johnson's not the only one in denial. He's not beating Bolt, training or no training.
