Recently, Chris Johnson graded out as the No. 100 player by NFL Network’s popular segment, “Top 100: Players of 2012.” Considering his paltry 2011 campaign, many thought he wouldn’t make the cut, and the fact that he did drew some criticism. Whether he is deserving of the ranking is a matter of opinion, though the Titans running back formerly known as ‘CJ2K’ still thinks pretty highly of himself. “I feel I am still the best back in the league, and I have no problem saying that,” Johnson told the Tennessean, via NFL.com. “None of the active backs have done anything that I have done in the first four years, even though I had a bad year last year. So I still feel like I am the best back in the league.” That is certainly up for debate. Some guy named Adrian Peterson says “hello,” as does the league’s reigning rushing champ, Maurice Jones-Drew. However, Johnson has totaled more yards than any other back over the last four seasons, and seemed a little peeve...

Gallery: Tennessee Titans cheerleader bikini shoot

Yesterday we lit up Bud Adams old ass over how he treats his cheerleaders to eight-hour bus rides to shoot bikini calendars. Again, the guy is a billionaire. We figured out that flying the team to Destin, Florida would have cost about $20,000. Instead their bus broke down during the drive south. Anyway, the girls fought through the bus fiasco and turned in these bikini outtakes....

Chris Johnson still believes he’s the NFL’s best running back

Getty Images Despite a poor 2011 season, Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson told Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean that he’s still the NFL’s best running back. “I feel I am still the best back in the league, and I have no problem saying that,” Johnson  said. “None of the active backs have done anything that I have done in the first four years, even though I had a bad...

Titans' RB Johnson driven to prove his worth

No one has ever rushed for 2,000 yards in a season two times in NFL history. But at just 26 years old, set to turn 27 only a couple weeks into the season, Chris Johnson is aiming to become the first. "That's definitely the goal," Johnson told The Sports Xchange. Johnson's age alone shouldn't be viewed as a deterrent. Barry Sanders rushed for 2,053 yards...

Chris Johnson is not one of the five preeminent running backs in the NFL

Following a mediocre 2011 campaign, Tennessee Titans star Chris Johnson claimed yesterday that he remains the best running back in the National Football League (NFL). “There are people out there who aren’t going to give me the respect I deserve,” … Continue reading →

Chris Johnson: “I am still the best back in the league”

It was just 2009 when Chris Johnson ran for 2,006 yards with the Tennessee Titans, and he appeared to be the best running back in the league. He became a big believer in his own ability, declaring that he would rush for 2,500 yards the following year. He came up slightly short of that. Or [...]

Titans’ RB Johnson believes he’s the best

Titans running back Chris Johnson believes he’s still the best back in the NFL, despite two down years. He will try to prove that behind a revamped offensive line. Plus, Tim Tebow is getting more involved with the Jets, commissioner Roger Goodell had his authority reaffirmed and Justin Blackmon will get his day in court.

Kenny Britt may not be ready for the regular season

Getty Images ESPN medical analyst Stephania Bell believes that Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt may not be ready to go for week one of the regular season, after undergoing two knee procedures this offseason in order to repair a torn ACL and MCL that he suffered last season. “The ‪Titans ‬say Week one, but I’m not sure he’s gonna make that,” said Bell via Evan...

How the Titans were sacked in 2011, part two

It's now time for part two of my series on how the Titans were sacked in 2011.As I noted in part one, the best way to describe how the Titans were sacked in 2011 was "not very often." They finished second in the league in Football Outsiders' Adjusted Sack Rating. Further, not every sack is a negative play; a loss of yardage is generally better than a quarterback...

How the Titans were sacked in 2011, part one

As part of our continuing meandering look on the Titans' offensive line this offseason, I thought I'd take a look at how the Titans were sacked in 2011. On the whole, the best way to describe how the Titans were sacked in 2011 is "not very often." Matt Hasselbeck and Jake Locker went down a combined 24 times, tied for second-fewest in the league. My favorite measure...

Titans' Chris Johnson: “I am still the best back in the league”

Whatever he did last year, or the fact that 13 other running backs had more yards than him in 2011, that means nothing to the Tennessee Titans' Chris Johnson, who still feels that he is the best in the NFL. Johnson recently told the Tennessean “I feel I am still the best back in the league, and I have no problem saying that,” Johnson said, “None of the active backs have...
