After dedicating his cleats to each victim of the Newtown, Conn. school shooting, Chris Johnson gave his best to one family in particular.
The Associated Press reports that the Titans' star running back on Tuesday called the family of seven-year old Grace McDonnell, who was among the 26 people killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
Through the team, the family got in touch with Johnson, who conversed with Grace's older brother, Jack.
"You get a whole sense of it and just him and the kids ... that he [Jack] was trying to be strong, but it's a situation I can tell how he feels," Johnson said. "I lost my grandmother earlier in this year and just knowing how that feels I just kind of wanted to do something to at least try to lift his spirits."
In a heartwarming gesture, Johnson also sent the McDonnell's Christmas gifts and gave them his phone number, offering his help in the future. He said he plans on auctioning off the cleats to raise money for families affected by the tr...
