Christian Ponder is coming off an 11-of-22 for 63 yard and one INT performance against Seattle on Sunday so you can understand why he’s a little testy towards questions about his hot girlfriend Samantha Steele.
Ponder went on KFAN in Minneapolis this week to answer questions about the Vikings two-game losing streak and whether his struggles have anything to do with the sideline reporter.
“She has nothing to do with it. We’ve been dating since the beginning of the season, so she had also to do with the five wins. So it has really nothing to do with anything on the football field.”
You might remember how Busted Coverage broke the case open on October 17, made it official on the 18th and hasn’t publicly tweeted with Steele since Oct. 20. Instead of continuing his public high schoolery with Steele, the Vikings QB started tweeting Bible verses.
Ponder went 8-of-17 for 58 yards passing, one TD and 2 INTs October 21 in a win over Arizona. Since then the Vikings are 0-2 and he’s getting questions about getting pulled for poor performance.
Paul Allen of KFAN asked Ponder if he should have been pulled in the Seattle game:
“No, I don’t think so. … Yeah, I wasn’t performing well and the whole offense wasn’t performing well, but knowing the position and knowing what it takes, I think in the middle of the game, to pull the quarterback is definitely a tough situation. And we were still in the game, so no, I definitely wouldn’t have pulled myself.”
The Vikings play Detroit Sunday and then have their bye week. You’re on notice, Steele.

I won’t get into the recovery timeline on Adrian Peterson’s ACL injury, short of saying that its quite amazing that he was on the field for week 1 and his production ever since has been amazing.
Getting himself to the field for week 1, in my eyes, was heroic. What he’s doing out there, on a surgically repaired leg or not, is also worthy of our admiration. Through 9 weeks...

(Eds: APNewsNow. Will be updated. With AP Photos.) By DAVE CAMPBELL AP Pro Football Writer Minnesota's passing game has been sputtering. Tight end Kyle Rudolph might be one way to help get it going.
Rudolph is a close friend of quarterback Christian Ponder. They were the team's first two draft picks last year, and they've forged an obvious connection on the field. Five...
Last week: 12 (-7)
In his last 4 games, Christian Ponder completed 73 of 126 (57.9%) for 724 yards (5.7 YPA), 4 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions, all less than stellar team performances (0-3-1 ATS, 1-3 SU). The only reason it was even close against Seattle was because Adrian Peterson went nuts, but as talented as he is, he can’t do it by himself. Even worse, their only...
