Christian Ponder is among the 8,000 people selected to test Google Glass. Google Glass is a pair of eyeglasses that functions as a computer. It allows users to take pictures and record videos through verbal commands. The new form of technology has been warmly received and there has been a lot of anticipation surrounding its scheduled 2014 release. Last month, Google Glass was soliciting offers from people looking to test the product. They told enthusiasts to pitch an idea for what they would do if they had the glasses. Ponder, the quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings, was among the thousands who pitched an idea to test Google Glass, and he was notified Thursday night that he had been accepted. In the tweet exchange seen below, you’ll notice that Ponder sent his initial “#ifihadglass” Twitter pitch on Feb. 21: @cponder7 You’re invited to join our #glassexplorers program. Woohoo! Make sure to follow us – we’ll DM in the coming weeks. — Project Glass (@projectglass) March 29, 2013 Those selected to test the product now have the opportunity to pay $1,500 to try out the glasses. Pickup locations are in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York.
