Last week: 15 (+8) The Bengals’ win last week was the definition of a statement win. Not only did they beat the Packers, but they did it despite losing the turnover battle by 2. Teams win just 17.9% of the time when losing the turnover battle by 2 historically. I still think Andy Dalton is a limiting factor on this team, but his previous 1-11 record in 2011 and 2012 against eventual playoff teams doesn’t seem relevant at this point. His supporting cast is definitely good enough to mask his flaws, especially their defense. They leaped ahead of the Ravens, who are still unable to consistently move the chains offensively, in the AFC North in my mind this weekend. Bengals worked out DB’s Stanford Routt and Chris Crocker

Today Joe Reedy reported on twitter that both Stanford Routt and Chris Crocker were brought into the Bengals facility for a work out. Routt was paid a couple years ago by the Chiefs but didn’t even make it the entire year.  He was considered the bust free agent signing in 2012 after signing a 3 […]

Why the Cincinnati Bengals are going to win AFC North

After a memorable come-from-behind victory against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium, the Cincinnati Bengals can check resilience off the list of traits for the 2013 season – but is that enough? In a game with more fodder than a peewee kids football game on Saturday’s, the Bengals did the impossible and gave up a 14 point lead, went down by 16, then won the...

Andy Dalton is Holding the Bengals Back

Watch out folks, the Cincinnati Bengals have sneakily transformed from a joke to an extremely solid team. And maybe you can't buy into them yet because they are 1-1 this season and their only win came against a lowly Pittsburgh Steelers team, but this squad has slowly gotten better each year since they drafted Andy Dalton and A.J. Green in 2011. Last season, the Cincinnati...

Bengals’ George Iloka fined for hit on Jermichael Finley

Cincinnati Bengals safety, George Iloka, was fined $15,000 for his hit on Green Bay Packers tight end, Jermichael Finley, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.  Iloka’s hit on Finley caused Finley to leave the game with an apparent concussion.  There was no penalty on the play and Iloka has since filed his appeal.  From my perspective, the hit was not helmet-to-helmet.  Nor...

Former Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Nate Webster will have to serve only 10 years of his 12-year prison sentence for having sex with the underage daughter of a former assistant coach. The Ohio 1st District Court of Appeals ruled Wednesday prosecutors didn't prove one of four counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor on which Webster was convicted last year. It upheld his...

Bengals' Iloka gets fined $15,000 for hit on Finley

When we said that Bengals safety George Iloka would be getting a package from the league we were technically wr-wr-wr-inaccurate. He’s already gotten it. Per a league source Iloka was fined $15000 for the hit applied to the head of Packers tight end Jermichael Finley when Finley was in a defenseless posture. Finley suffered a concussion on the play; no flag was thrown. The fine...

2013 Fantasy Football: Giovani Bernard is Dressed to Impress

Photo Credit: Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images Having already taken an investigative look at one-half of the Green Bay/Cincinnati rookie running back battle from week 3 (Johnathan Franklin), next up is Giovani Bernard. After breaking the seal for running backs in the 2013 NFL Draft (37th overall), there was considerable hype surrounding Bernard, both in fantasy circles and around the league...

Bengals-Browns Preview

Coach Marvin Lewis realizes he needs to keep his Cincinnati Bengals focused as they prepare to face the Cleveland Browns, who probably shouldn't be taken lightly after last week. The visiting Bengals hope to avoid a letdown by beating the Browns for the eighth time in 10 meetings when the AFC North rivals meet in Cleveland on Sunday. Cincinnati (2-1) became the first team in...
