Are the same old Bungals for real in 2012?
They were once known as that and some still consider them as a franchise that cannot win the big game let alone make the playoffs again, Cincinnati is looking impressive with the development of Andy Dalton at quarterback.
A.J. Green went bonkers against the Washington Redskins pass defense that turned into swiss cheese, but perhaps Dalton (Mohammed Sanu threw TD to Green) is worthy of becoming a future Pro Bowler?
Dalton looks like a future top 10 passer, and he certainly is a top 20 at the very worst right now. While people are talking about Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III since they are rookies, Dalton made the playoffs in his rookie year and is now attempting to put the Bengals back on the map.
The AFC North signal-caller needs to perform well against solid competition, but winning against teams like the Jaguars needs to become a habit.
It should still be amazing how the Bengals failed to record a victory over the Steelers or the Rave...

Andy Dalton Deserves Your Fantasy Respect
Nicknamed the Red Rifle by Bengals fans, Dalton has led the Cats to a phenomenal 2-1 start. With the exception of a disastrous start to the 2012 season against the Baltimore Ravens, where Dalton passed fairly well excluding an interception he threw, the Bengals were torn apart by their division rival 44-13. This rout was a wake up call for this team looking to make a bigger statement this year.
Bengals’ A.J. Green better than Lions’ Calvin Johnson?
After coming up big for the Bengals this past week in the teams’ thrilling road win over the Washington Redskins, WR A.J. Green and DE Michael Johnson are getting some deserved praise from the analysts at Pro Football Focus in their weekly Team of the Week segment in which they select the past weeks’ best players based on their PFF grades. Consider it their version...
Hot Cincinnati Bengals Cheerleaders (Pictures)
Hot Cincinnati Bengals Cheerleaders. Today we continue with the second team in the AFC North with the ladies of the Bengals. The girls in stripes are looking healthy and somewhat out of the blue the football team is looking good too. Not used to seeing a good team in Cincinnati in my day, but maybe that's one of the reasons the girls are following along. Check out the...
Five Keys to Victory: Week Four
Riding high with the win over Washington, Cincinnati makes its second early-season trip in as many years to Jacksonville. The Jaguars are still in a rebuilding phase with QB Blaine Gabbert, who hasn’t shown as much as fellow 2011 draft picks Cam Newton, Christian Ponder, or our own Andy Dalton. He does have some weapons, most importantly the mighty mite, Maurice Jones-Drew...
Bengals CB Jason Allen, C Jeff Faine Among Five Who Didnt Practice
Cornerback Jason Allen and center Jeff Faine, who were limited on Wednesday, did not practice on Thursday. Allen has a thigh injury while Allen is bothered by a lingering thigh injury. Cornerbacks Nate Clements (calf) and Leon Hall (hamstring) did not practice for a second straight day but defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer said he anticipated both playing on Sunday in Jacksonville...
Bengals CB Jones not happy with fine
Cincinnati Bengals Cornerback Adam Jones said on Bengals.com Friday that he does not think he should have been fined $15,000 this week for a horse-collar tackle last Sunday against the Washington Redskins. He was also fined $75,000 before the season from an incident at a bar that took place during last year's lockout. But Jones does not think he will win an appeal, but he...
The NFL's shifting paradigm: Not all about the quarterback
BY SAM HITCHCOCK, NEWJERSEYNEWSROOM.COM (COMMENTARY)
The NFL’s referee debacle is finally resolved, so now people can begin to focus on the league and where it is heading. There is no question that offense is king in today’s game. It has been well documented by the Elias Stats Bureau that, this year, NFL offenses are putting up astronomical numbers of points each week. Yet...

Laurent Robinson returns to practice Friday
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Laurent Robinson returned to practice Friday and is expected to play against Cincinnati.
Robinson, who leads the team with eight receptions for 115 yards, missed the previous two days of practice while recovering from a concussion suffered in last week's win at Indianapolis.
He was back running routes Friday, and coach...
NFL Week 4: Trendspotting the Jacksonville Jaguars
Maurice Jones-Drew, Blaine Gabbert and Cecil Shorts provided the Jaguars faithful with another last minute, come from behind, dramatic lead change. This time, the defense held on to a 22-17 win over Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts. This was a good win for team that desperately needed one, and should provide a jolt of confidence for this young team as they prepare to take on...
Week Three Hit List
I hope you will forgive me as I know I’m a little late with this week’s hit list (by 3 days). My “regular” job sometimes requires me to travel to far-off exotic lands where people speak in strange tongues and practice odd customs.
This week it was New Jersey.
Anyway, the Bengals won a very strange affair last Sunday in Washington, and “survived” several scares...
Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew Says Team Got Numerous Trade Offers For Him
Running back Maurice Jones-Drew held out of the preseason and training camp for 38 days before reporting to the Jaguars the weekend before the start of the regular season. During the holdout, it was asked over and over if the Jaguars would try to trade Jones-Drew, with the feeling that the team wouldn't budge.
According to Maurice Jones-Drew, the team had offers.
"I...
Jaguars Impressed With Undrafted Rookie C/OG Mike Brewster
Jaguars undrafted rookie C-OG Mike Brewster has been put in a tough position because of injuries along the offensive line, earning his first NFL start against the Colts in Week Three, after being thrown into the fire two games earlier following an injury to starting OLG Eben Britton. Word is Brewster actually has held up well given the circumstances, with critical blocks helping...
Cincinnati Bengals: Week 4 NFL Power Rankings (#21)
Last week: 29 (+8)
Record: 2-1
The Bengals, my original pick to go from out of the playoffs to 5 wins or fewer, are still in the running. I had them doing do because I thought they were the worst of the 12 playoff teams last season (other than Denver, who added Peyton Manning). Andy Dalton can move the ball well against crappy defenses like Cleveland and Washington, but he’s still...
