The Eagles won their game this past Sunday while the Bengals lost their game, but the two teams are in much different situations. The Eagles’ win ended their dreadful eight-game losing streak, while the Bengals’ loss ended their four-game winning streak. The Bengals come into this game looking to improve their playoff chances and will do so against an Eagles team who is playing the role of spoiler. Cincinnati Bengals Andy Dalton and the Bengals are looking to improve their playoff position with a win over the Eagles. The Bengals had a chance to get themselves into the current playoff picture on Sunday, but remain out of the last wild-card spot, behind Pittsburgh, after their last-second loss to the Cowboys. This loss ended a four-game winning streak, but it did not hurt them too much as both the Ravens and Steelers also lost on Sunday. The Bengals likely need to win two of their three remaining games to reach the playoffs, with one of those wins coming against the Steelers. The Bengals must avoid falling into the trend of streaks as they have done all year. Their recent four-game winning streak was preceded by a four-game losing streak, which itself was preceded by a three-game winning streak. They cannot get too down after this last loss, as they are clear favorites in this game against the Eagles. Philadelphia Eagles The Eagles finally ended their eight-game losing streak on Sunday with a comeback win over the Bucs. Nick Foles led the comeback with two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter, with the second one coming as time expired to win the game. Foles carried the offense in this game, passing for 381 yards and throwing no interceptions. He has gained the starting spot for the rest of the season, and he finally has his breakthrough on Sunday. The Eagles cannot let the Bengals run up the score as they have allowed other teams to do this season. During the losing streak, the defense allowed at least 26 points in every game except the first of the streak, and allowed at least 30 points in five of those games. Bengals-Eagles Prediction The Eagles finally ended their losing ways on Sunday, but the Bengals have too much to play for in this game and are simply a better team. They will win this game and further improve their playoff chances.
