Aaron Maybin may be known as a major bust in Buffalo, but he’s getting another chance with his third NFL team in 2013. The 6-4, 240-pound pass-rusher has signed with the Cincinnati Bengals, the team announced on Friday.
Maybin, a former first-round pick (11th overall in 2009 out of Penn State) played in 27 games in two seasons with the Buffalo Bills. To say that Maybin turned out to be a major disappointment would be a major understatement, as he started only one game and made a total of 24 tackles and one forced fumble with zero sacks with the Bills.
He did, however, show some promise in 2011 as a situational pass-rusher for the New York Jets. Albeit he appeared in 13 games and made just 11 tackles with no starts, Maybin made 6.0 sacks and four forced fumbles in limited action.
