The Bengals offense hasn’t lived up to expectations thus far in the preseason, and that’s never a good sign, as teams who struggle on offense in the preseason tend to struggle as much, if not more during the regular season. Of course Pro Bowl TE Jermaine Gresham is out, but the team did fine while he was injured during the regular season last year. The team has also been missing its top-2 RBs, BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Bernard Scott, and there’s a growing feeling Scott won’t be ready for the opener against Baltimore. This preseason, Bengals backs have rushed 67 times for 129 yards, a rate of 1.9 yards per carry. Can Green-Ellis be expected to make that big of a difference when he comes back? A lot of questions are starting to surround the offense with 16 days remaining before…READ MORE Related articles 2013 NFL Preview: Cincinnati Bengals Edition (110sportztalk.com) NFL Division Breakdown Series: AFC North (110sportztalk.com) QB Breakdown: Andy Dalton [Quick Take] (110sportztalk.co...

Bill Belichick on releasing Jonathan Fanene: "just didn't work out"

Any hopes of DE Jonathan Fanene being able to contribute this season looked to have been dashed when he injured his knee early in training camp, and hadn't been able to recover from it. It's a tough break for the player and the team because he's a tough SOB that would've fit quite well in the Patriots rotation. "Just didn't work out," head coach...

Bengals CB Kirkpatrick has sore knee, may not play

Rookie cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick may not make his pro debut this week after all. The Cincinnati Bengals' top draft pick had to sit out practice on Monday because his left knee was sore. CFL player throws incredibly vicious block

What gets BC excited about the Canadian Football League? Not much. It is funny, however, to look at CFL rosters, where they list guys as “Imports” or “Non-Imports.” Anyway, let’s get to this huge hit in the Week 9 game featuring Montreal vs. Hamilton. QB Henry Burris, still a legend up north, launches a pass that is picked off. That’s bad news for his teammate, Onrea...

Cincinnati Bengals Player Preview: Geno Atkins

The Bengals haven’t had an elite defensive lineman since the days of Tim Krumrie. After just two years in the NFL, the Bengals may have finally found a player worthy of staking that claim in defensive tackle Geno Atkins . The former Georgia Bulldog has come along way from being the 120th pick in the 2010 draft. Atkins was looked at as undersized as a defensive tackle who lacked...

Bengals' Kirkpatrick held out with sore left knee

Bengals cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick sat out of Monday's practice with a sore left knee. Kirkpatrick was first cleared to practice last week after fracturing a bone in his left knee in July, days before the start of training camp. The 17th overall pick in the 2012 draft out of Alabama was pushing to see his first preseason action in Thursday's preseason finale at Indianapolis...

CFL player Kyries Hebert delivers nasty block on interception return (Video)

For those of you that didn't watch Friday night's CFL affair between the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Montreal Alouettes, you might have missed the block of the year in professional football. After Hamilton's Henry Burris threw an interception to Montreal defensive back Jerald Brown, Tiger Cats wide receiver Onrea Jones attempted to make the tackle. Onrea...

Montreal’s Kyries Hebert destroyed Hamilton’s Onrea Jones with this devastating block

Sure it doesn’t have the glitz, glamor or popularity of the NFL, but the CFL does feature some pretty good players capable of pulling off some pretty terrific plays, as evidenced by this mammoth, decleater of a block delivered by Alouettes safety Kyries Hebert on Tiger-Cats receiver Onrea Jones following a Henry Burris pick. Jones’ focus is squarely on the Als’ Jerald Brown...
