Although the news is not going to qualify as earth shattering to Packer fans, it has been confirmed that that former Green Bay defensive lineman C.J. Wilson has come to terms with Oakland Raiders according to Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.  Wilson, who was selected in the seventh round by the Packers in the 2010 NFL Draft, earned a spot on the team as a rotational player along the defensive line, where he was known specifically for his ability to stop the run. The former East Carolina product saw the field right away as a rookie, playing in 15 games and starting two. In all, he totaled 12 tackles and one sack that season, the one sack coming against Brett Favre and the Vikings, when Favre made his second trip to Lambeau Field. Wilson’s best season came in 2012, when he started seven games, notched 15 tackles and two and a half sacks. In 2013, his role was greatly reduced and he ended up being active for only eight games and registered just five tackles. The chances of the defensive end returning to Green Bay was always unlikely but became even less so when the Packers re-signed B.J. Raji and then signed former Vikings defensive tackle Letroy Guion, who was brought on because is his run-stopping capabilities. However, Wilson has found a home with the Raiders and if can keep holding up well against the run, he should be able to find gainful employment in the league for years to come, it just won’t be with in Green Bay where he was a part of a Super Bowl Championship team as well as three division championships.
