The Packers had a hard time last season with defending quarterbacks that run the read-option.
Green Bay linebacker Clay Matthews Jr. was asked by a CBS sideline reporter if their game against the Seahawks will help them prepare for the 49ers and Redskins who they have to play early in the season.
“It’s real good preparation,” he said, via the DC Sports Bog. “We start out the season with the 49ers. I mean, we got…uh…what’s his name?”
Matthews was then asked if he was talking about Kaepernick.
“No no, the Redskins, coming here Week 2,” he said. “So it’s great preparation.”
You have to wonder if this was a jab from Matthews to Robert Griffin III or not. My guess is he just forgot his name.
