The NFL reportedly has ordered all teams to install locker room cameras, which will provide exclusive video content for those who buy tickets and attend games.

While the implementation of such cameras remain "works in progress," the idea doesn't at all sit right with Clay Matthews.

In an interview with USA Today, the Packers' All-Pro linebacker vehemently iterated that he's "not a fan" of adding cameras to what he calls the players' "sanctuary."

"I'm not a fan of that, and I'm not afraid to say that," Matthews said. "The availability of the athletes is already so great to fans, the organization and the media, but now to add the locker room -- our one sanctuary, which is even taken over by the media -- and now you throw in cameras?

"You think 'cameras in the locker room' and what does that conjure up images of? It's a privacy issue. I know they're trying to give the fans more of an experience, but what more can you do? We do interviews on the sideline, there's social media. You can't leave the parking lot without people swarming your cars. I'm not a fan of it."

The cameras will be placed in the home team's locker room and broadcast video (but no audio) to the stadium's scoreboard and wireless applications. The obviously marketing tool, which the league hopes to combat decreasing ticket sales, will not be available to the networks or fans at home.

But it's all the same to Matthews, who believes the cameras would constitute "perversion."

"I've always thought throwing a camera in the locker room is perversion," he said. "They want to give fans an inside glimpse, but if people actually saw the way we interact in the locker room, like young kids, they wouldn't like it."
