And the hits just keep on coming.
Shefter, Grossi and company reporting that the Browns have cut TE Evan Moore.
This one isn’t a huge surprise. Combined with the release of Gronkowski, it signals that the Browns have kept Ben Watson, Alex Smith and Jordan Cameron. It should also be good news for Brad Smelley fans.
Moore signed a contract extension last season, but hasn’t found...
Everyone in the Browns media is reporting it so we’ll go with Nate Ulrich who had the most descriptive tweets. Ulrich reports the following players are on the Browns’ practice squad.
Linebackers Solomon Elimimian and Ben Jacobs
DT Ronnie Cameron
C Garth Gerhard
G Jarrod Shaw
T Jeff Shugarts
WR Josh Cooper
FB Brad Smelley
That’s eight, so that’s it. No Adonis Thomas and I...
We knew the Browns wouldn’t be able to keep all the tight ends they had in camp. It seems the first has fallen, despite the Browns no announcing their cuts until about midnight tonight.
Pro Football Talk on Twitter has stated that Dan Gronkowski is gone. It isn’t a surprise due to the numbers of TEs the Browns had in camp. Gronkowski played well at times and showed good hands...
I think I came and played well. I think I put my best foot forward and we’re going to just go from there. I’m not into this and that, I just try to come out here and work everyday and do the best I can do. [...] I just go out and take everyday day-by-day. We just have to go out and put our best foot forward. Like I said, if I answer those things and whatever comes out of...
According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, Browns general manager Tom Heckert said that he’s not thinking about trading back up quarterback Colt McCoy.
#Browns Heckert said he’s pretty set with McCoy as backup quarterback, not thinking of trading him at some point.

McCoy is still a good quarterback that...
In the end, it might have been the numbers that mattered most to the Browns. Colt McCoy's miserable preseason finale on Thursday night didn't cost him his roster spot with the Browns. The numbers were finances. Seneca Wallace was released, clearing his salary which was $1.9 million higher than McCoy's for 2012, and McCoy will stay as the backup to rookie starter Brandon...
Tom Heckert spoke with the media this afternoon-
(On if he was expecting to have 15 rookies on the roster coming into camp)- “I’m going to be totally honest with you, (Neal Gulkis) just told me that. I didn’t really know it was 15 so it’s obviously not something that we planned. I don’t know if Pat (Shurmur) told you guys, but you can see there are some unorthodox – maybe...
The Cleveland Browns just made Brandon Weeden’s rookie start in the NFL for the regular season a bit tougher. They traded safety David Sims to the Eagles for an undisclosed draft pick in 2013. Sims was the stand out defensive player for the Browns this preseason. Sims did an outstanding job playing against the pass. He intercepted 2 passes, one against the Detroit Lions and one...
According to ESPN Cleveland, the Browns are not ruling out running back Trent Richardson (knee) for the season opener, even though he has yet to practice.Fantasy Spin:Richardson was back on the practice field Saturday, riding a stationary bike. Browns coach Pat Shurmur said, "If (Richardson) plays, he will be ready to go and play the whole game." That should help fantasy...
BEREA -- There was a Trent Richardson sighting at Browns practice on Saturday.
Richardson spent the 75-minute workout riding a bike, which is more than he's been seen doing since he had arthroscopic knee surgery Aug. 9.
Coach Pat Shurmur gave his usual sketchy rundown on Richardson's status and whether he'll be available for the season opener against the Eagles.
Hot News for NT Scott Paxson
McCoy, who lost his starting job in training camp to rookie Brandon Weeden, is battling Seneca Wallace to be Cleveland's No. 2 QB. McCoy went 2 of 5 for 16 yards and an interception.
The WFNY Podcast makes a triumphant return. The opening is absolutely ridiculous now, as you’ll hear. The highlight clips have LeBron and Braylon Edwards! This is the last time you’ll hear it, but we thought it would be funny to play it one last time.
