The Cleveland Browns’ draft history is checkered at best if you’re a glass half-full Browns fans, and down-right putrid if your Browns' fan glass is half-empty.The Browns drafted Willie Davis with the 181st pick in the 15th round of the 1956 Draft. Paul Brown tried him out at offensive tackle, and cut him. Vince Lombardi signed Davis changed his position to defensive end, and the rest is history.  The next year the Browns drafted running back Jim Brown from Syracuse with the No. 6 pick in the first round. He only went on to become the NFL’s all-time leading rusher, which stood 21 years after his retirement in 1965.They have some head-scratchers the 24 times they had top-10 picks: DT “Big Money” Gerrard Warren from Florida (No. 3 in 2001)RB “Touchdown” Tommy Vardell from Stanford (No. 9 in 1992)LB Mike Junkin from Duke (No. 5 in 1987)TE Tom Hutchinson from Kentucky (No. 9 in 1963)QB Bobby Garrett from Stanford (No. 1 in 1954)Nevertheless, the Browns’ fortunes have been tied to th...

New NFL Draft movie focuses on Cleveland Browns; stars Jennifer Garner

Hey, there’s an NFL Draft movie in the works! It’ll probably be the best movie featuring the NFL Draft since “Jerry Maguire.” It’ll probably also be the worst NFL Draft movie since Jerry Maguire. I know that was really a thinly-disguised “chick flick” and buddy picture about an Arizona Cardinals WR and his agent, but I’m really stretching to think of any other NFL...

NFL Free Agency: Players on five year deals last 2.9 on average

The Big Lead has a fascinating report out today that analyzes the results of free agent deals from the years 2005 to 2010.
