The Cleveland Browns jumped out to a 14-0 lead today, only to be pummeled by the New York Giants 41-27.  This makes the Browns losers of their last eleven games going back to last season.  With that being said, the Browns young players looked really good in a losing effort.

Trent Richardson looked like Walter Payton at times with his shifty running his ability to deliver a blow to the defender rather than be hit first.

He ended up rushing for 81 yards and averaging just under five yards a carry.  He also added 47 receiving yards to his totals.  Brandon Weeden made some crucial mistakes in the red zone, but overall he played pretty well.

He threw for nearly 300 yards and a pair of touchdowns, both to another rookie Josh Gordon.  Gordon is a big receiver with decent speed in the opening.  I look forward to seeing what a pro staff can do with him during the offseason.  He could very well be the next Terrell Owens with his stature and speed.

This young nucleus of players shows a lot of promise for Cleveland's offense going forward.  The defense is what's struggling this season.  The Browns have really missed Pro Bowl corner Joe Haden the last four weeks.  Eli Manning picked on Buster Skrine all day and completed five straight passes to Rueben Randle on a drive that ended up with a Victor Cruz touchdown.

It looks as though the Browns will have an early pick in the draft again this year.  They already gave away their second pick to get Josh Gordon, which looks like a good move right now.  I think a good move in the first round would be taking Monte Teo out of Notre Dame.  They are giving up way too many yards on the ground (see Bradshaw's 200 yard performance today) and Teo would be an excellent fit inside with Jackson.

Most likely, the new owner is going to blow up the front office again and Holmgren and Schurmur will be out the door.  This will slow Weeden's development having to learn a new system, but I think offensively, the Browns are headed in the right direction.
