Cleveland Browns receive hype for the 2024 season from an unlikely source
Jessica Rapfogel-USA TODAY Sports

Cleveland Browns had a ton of adversity come about in the 2023 season but still managed to make the playoffs.

In the 2024 season, there will be a step up in expectations. Cleveland is currently building their roster out in free agency and will have the draft to do so soon as well.

Through all of that, the Browns are receiving some hype going into next season from an unlikely candidate.

“I like what (Kevin) and the coaching staff have done in Cleveland having the number one defense last year,” said former Pittsburgh Steelers CB Patrick Peterson in Good Morning Football. “You get Deshaun Watson back, you have weapons outside now that's able to help Amari Cooper, you have tight ends that can get open. I am really really 'giddy' to see how this team is going to finish the season versus how they finished last season."

Last season the Browns lost Nick Chubb early on and had a healthy Watson for just six games. By the end of the season, they were on to their fourth and fifth offensive tackles to protect their fifth quarterback Joe Flacco. Still, the Browns managed to make the wild card where they fell to the Houston Texans.

The biggest move that they’ve made so far this offseason is trading two late picks for WR Jerry Jeudy from the Denver Broncos. It is a move that raises the ceiling of the wideout room that much.

Peterson only spent one season with the Steelers to get a real close look at the Browns but it appears he is calling it like he sees it.
