No. 3 wide receiver Joey Galloway, who has contributed little this season, was benched in the second half of Monday night's 59-28 blowout loss to Philadelphia. Roydell Williams replaced Galloway in multiple-receiver sets during the second half after Galloway did a poor job while running a route late in the second and quarterback Donovan McNabb's pass was intercepted. On Monday, Coach Mike Shanahan declined to directly criticize Galloway for the play that resulted in a turnover, but he said the coaching staff "liked the throw. He [McNabb] threw it. Had the right timing, had the right footwork. I liked the throw." Offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan took things a step further after practice Thursday, expressing his dissatisfaction with Galloway's performance early in the game and especially on the timing pass that was intercepted.
