Colin Kaepernick was certainly good in the seven regular season games and three playoff games he started, but it seems at least one NFL pundit is getting a little ahead of themselves. Ron Jaworski said “I believe Colin Kaepernick can be the best quarterback, arguably, in the history of the NFL,” as transcribed by Evan Silva of Rotoworld. That’s some high praise for a player who has seen action in just 19 meaningful NFL games. Kaepernick completed 62.4 percent of his passes last season for 1,814 yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions. He also ran the ball 63 times for 415 yards and five touchdowns. He fumbled nine times, losing the ball twice. In the playoffs, Kaepernick completed 61.3 percent of his passes for 798 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. He ran the ball 25 times for 264 yards and three touchdowns. He fumbled once. Kaepernick certainly has all the tools to be one of the all-time greats, but it would be an accomplishment to even be considered third best in the history of the 49ers.
