Seriously, someone get Britton Colquitt his own radio show as soon as possible.

The Broncos punter had the media room in fits of laughter Monday as he told stories about head coach John Fox and special teams partner Matt Prater.

Colquitt was engaged in a serious dialogue about why players have responded so well to Fox. Colquitt called Fox a players’ coach, someone who always knows the right thing to say. Even if that thing is a joke.

Asked to give an example of Fox’s “quick-wittedness,” Colquitt served up this tale from Sunday in Minnesota.

“Walking out of the tunnel yesterday, somebody had farted,” Colquitt said, starting to laugh. “We’re walking down, this is right before the game starts, and [Fox] is like, ‘Man, somebody’s nervous.”

Colquitt said the whole team started to crack up just moments before the squad ran onto the field.

(Note: The visitor’s tunnel at the Metrodome is very narrow and includes a long staircase. There is no doubt every player heard the bodily function and Fox’s subsequent joke. Colquitt declined to reveal the guilty player.)

Colquitt went on to talk about the unique facial hair he, Prater, wide receiver Eric Decker and practice squad quarterback Adam Weber sported in Minnesota. Colquitt’s was a mustache that connected through to his sideburns, with a clean-shaven chin. At his wife’s request, Colquitt has since trimmed down to just a mustache.

He said Prater, who has blonde hair, wanted to add some color to his beard. Prater thought that he could give his beard a tinge of gray by adding A Touch of Gray.

“Prater still thinks Touch of Gray adds a touch of gray,” Colquitt said. “No one wants gray! It takes the gray and adds color.”
