In the past few days, I've answered a lot of email about Colt Brennan. Most of the questions go like this: With Colt on the roster, why would the Redskins consider drafting another young quarterback with the fourth overall pick? Responding to everyone privately would be too time-consuming, so let me attempt to clarify a few things in one post. Former coach Jim Zorn wanted to cut Brennan before the 2009 season, people familiar with the situation said. In a phone interview last month after he joined the Baltimore Ravens as quarterbacks coach, Zorn declined to discuss personnel and situations that occurred during his two seasons with Washington. But Zorn expected Brennan to challenge Todd Collins for the backup job in the 2009 preseason, and that didn't happen because Brennan struggled.
