Fantasy Football Champs:
The Colts selected wide receiver T.Y. Hilton in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
Hilton is a speed demon and turned heads with a 4.37 time in the 40-yard dash at his Florida International Pro Day. The Colts are dedicated to adding weapons to help prized quarterback Andrew Luck succeed, and Hilton lands in a good situation as they lack a solid receiver beyond Reggie Wayne. Intriguing keeper appeal in the small-school star.
BEST OF MAXIM
Heading into the 2012 offseason was extremely difficult for Indianapolis Colts fans. Owner Jim Irsay made hard decisions that marked the end of an era of Colts football. Gone were the team's legendary General Manager Bill Polian and his son Chris, gone was nearly the entire coaching staff, and gone was a large portion of the nucleus of a 2006 NFL Championship team -- of course...
Chandler Harnish, a quarterback from Northern Illinois was taken with the 253rd over pick in this past weekend’s NFL Draft. The Indianapolis Colts made him the last pick in the draft, thus crowning him Mr. Irrelevant. Now not only will he have to dodge Colts defenders in practice, he’ll need to dodge Mrs. Irrelevent who we came to know and love last week.
Well, she’s baaaaack...
The Indianapolis Colts scooped up tight end Coby Fleener in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
The Colts reunite Stanford teammates after selecting quarterback Andrew Luck the No. 1 pick. Fleener may need work as a blocker, but turned heads as a vertical threat during his Pro Day, and there is stud potential as a fantasy tight end here - and it does help that he...
1. QB Andrew Luck ANot much to say here. Luck was the obvious selection.34. TE Coby Fleener AI love this pick. I’ve never understood why more teams don’t bring in former teammates to compliment highly drafted quarterbacks. Fleener was the top tight end in this draft class, a solid value at 34, and will be a huge upgrade over Brody Eldridge, a big blocker who has 26 catches combined...
According to Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay believes quarterback Andrew Luck’s contract should get done rather quickly. He’s expected to receive a deal in the neighborhood of four-years, $22 million.
“It’s something that should be done swiftly,” said Irsay. “There shouldn’t be a difficult process with that.”
The many faces of former indianapolis Colts coach Jim Caldwell.
As expected, quarterback Andrew Luck was the No. 1 overall pick of the NFL Draft to the Indianapolis Colts.Fantasy Spin:
Luck should start right away, and will likely also make an instant fantasy impact, like 2011 rookies Cam Newton and Andy Dalton. The stock of wideout Reggie Wayne also looks to go back up after a subpar year of 960 yards.
Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay reportedly said late Saturday the Colts have begun talks with first-round pick Andrew Luck and he expected the contract to be finalized soon. "It's something that should be done swiftly," Irsay told the Indianapolis Star. "There shouldn't be a difficult process with that." The Colts drafted the Stanford quarterback...
So this is becoming a bit of a recurring joke, but here it is anyway: the Colts have picked up another tight end.
The Colts have also signed TE Dominique Jones, who is from the Indoor Football League and has played in the UFL.
I've reached out to the Colts to ask if they plan on him converting to safety or cornerback but they've yet to respond.
OK, that last part wasn't true.
Paul Kuharsky notes that Mel Kiper was impressed with Ryan Grigson's first draft:
Kiper: "Think the Colts were concerned about building a supporting cast forAndrew Luck? They showed an unbelievable commitment to Luck, adding the top two tight ends in the draft in Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen (Luck is used to two-TE sets), a burner in T.Y. Hilton who could become a gem...
The Indianapolis Colts began the offseason by cutting their storied franchise quarterback and clearing out the high earners; this is what they did to replace them.
Round 1 - Pick No. 1 - Andrew Luck - QB - Stanford
The best player in the draft was selected first, just the way it should be. Luck has all the potential and expectancy in the world to become the Colts' leader...
The 2012 NFL Draft is in the books and so is the 2012 Mr. Irrelevant Winner! With the 253rd pick of the draft the Indianapolis Colts selected the quarterback from Northern Illinois, Chandler Harnish.
Harnish is the most accomplished gun slinger in the history of the school. He ranks first in nearly every single category in career and season records. He also is ranked high in all...
