Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck will replace New
England Patriots veteran Tom Brady in the 2013 Pro Bowl, the team has
announced. Brady has bowed out of the NFL All-Star game once again, this time
due to an undisclosed injury.
After being selected first overall in last spring’s NFL
Draft by Indianapolis, Luck led the Colts to an 11-5 record and playoff
appearance. He set NFL rookie records in multiple categories, including passing
yards (4,374), pass attempts (627) and 300-yard passing games (six).
Luck completed 54.1% of his passes and threw for 23
touchdowns with 18 interceptions. He also gained 255 yards on the ground while
scoring five rushing touchdowns.
Luck was not the only rookie quarterback named to the Pro
Bowl this season, as Seattle Seahawks’ Russell Wilson will replace the injured Atlanta
Falcons’ Matt Ryan. Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III was also
named to the Pro Bowl, but he won’t play due to the knee injury he sustained in
