Paul Kuharsky shows us just how badly this defense has become at preventing the big play: The Colts have actually stayed even with opponents in rushing big plays. Indianapolis has 10 runs of 10 yards or more this season and opponents also have 10. But pass players are a different story. Indy has hit on 21 pass plays over 20 yards, and they’ve allowed 33. Most significantly, as they’ve been outscored 120-34 in their last three games, they haven’t hit on a pass play over 30 yards while allowing seven.

The Colts suck, but will they get Luck?

It’s not brain surgery. The Indianapolis Colts are 0-9 and there really doesn’t look like they have much fight left in them. And college football’s most desirable player just happens to be a guy who could very well turn the team’s fortunes around. Stanford’s Andrew Luck is a complete quarterback, the kind of player you could build a dynasty around. The kind of quarterback...

Phil B goes off the deep end too

Philip B. Wilson is my favorite beat writer.  I love his style and he's often got his finger on the pulse of fans everywhere.Today he's joined the ranks of Star writers who have leapt off the deep end.  He's dead wrong on this claim: The most recent eyebrow raise has been about RB Delone Carter. The rookie has been one of the few bright spots, yet the Colts gave him...

Patriots-Colts Matchup at Gillette Stadium Flexed Out of Prime Time

In news that should surprise no one, the Patriots-Colts matchup in Week 13 has been flexed out of prime time. One of the great rivalries of the last decade lost all of its luster when Colts quarterback Peyton Manning underwent neck surgery that put his entire 2011 season in jeopardy. The Colts have an 0-9 record and haven't been competitive for a month. They were destroyed 62...

Colts Power Rankings: 2011, Week 9

Each week, Coltzilla will scour the net for team rankings from football experts covering the previous week, and discuss them from the fan’s perspective. Average Ranking: 32.00 (previously 31.88) – Thirty-second. Bottom. And it’s unanimous. According to the experts, the Colts are the worst team in the NFL. Anyone still disagree? CBS Sports – Pete [...]

Robert Mathis is the Pro Bowl story you never should have heard, his 771/2 sacks the assault on NFL quarterbacks that never should have been launched.

Colts Caldwell reflects on mentor Paterno

It was the second question to be asked of Indianapolis Colts coach Jim Caldwell today. And it was to be expected, considering his ties to Penn State University.

'Name that Chapter' Contest!

It's contest time! Last year, my book about the history of the Indianapolis Colts came out. Blue Blood: Tales of Glory of the Indianapolis Colts chronicles the history of the team since moving to Indianapolis. One of the hardest parts of writing a book is coming up with chapter titles that are pithy, informative, and not too cliche. Someday, in five or ten years, I might update...

Colts sign a TE

Looks like at least Eldridge isn't coming back soon as Hill is a blocking end: The Colts moved to bolster the position Monday by signing Anthony Hill (6-6, 277) from the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad. Hill was a 2009 fourth-round draft pick of the Houston Texans. He appeared in five games with the Texans, all as a rookie.

Week 13's Indianapolis Colts - New England Patriots game, originally scheduled for Sunday Night Football, will move to 1 p.m. ET on CBS, the NFL announced on Tuesday.
