The Indianapolis Colts are 1-1 thus far in the preseason and are now going against a stiff test in the Cleveland Browns. Although they look different in the regular season, the Browns look very good this preseason. This should be a great test.   Last week's performance is what is needed from Andrew Luck week in and week out. He was stellar and almost all of his throws were on the money. With the exceptions of a couple of drops by the receivers and a blessing from avove, Luck was perfect. Yes, perfect! His footwork looked solid, he scrambled well and he always seemed to find the right guy. He's making the right reads and progressions. That was last week however, this week he has a new test, a tougher test. The Browns have a top 12 defense, and they have some real playmakers that can cause trouble. Joe Haden is a top 5 cornerback and a ballhawk. Luck cannot afford to be overly aggressive and take too many chances. He must take his time and be patient. If he does that, he will...

Luck: Wayne is still our leader

Despite being wise beyond his years, the second-year QB knows the Colts are quite totally 'his' team just yet.

Luck, defense lift Colts over Browns

Chuck Pagano promised to make Indianapolis a better defensive team. On Saturday night, the Colts showed what they're capable of. Indianapolis starters allowed only four first downs and three plays run in their territory, didn't yield a touchdown for the second straight week and even scored one on Larry Asante's late 48-yard interception return. Andrew Luck, meanwhile...

Chuck Pagano Thinks Andrew Luck Runs too Much

According to NFL.com,  Colts head coach, Chuck Pagano, thinks QB Andrew Luck runs too much.  Pagano made the statement after the Colts’ victory over the Browns on Saturday.  Luck said after the game he’s still working on avoiding the unnecessary contact. “I don’t know, I haven’t figured out how to slide,” Luck said. “I’m just going to go down and however way...

Five things to know from Browns-Colts

The Indianapolis Colts put it all together, and the Cleveland Browns couldn't get anything right. Andrew Luck threw two touchdown passes and was in complete command of the offense and Indianapolis' starting defense stymied Cleveland's offense. Even the Colts' often maligned special teams had some big plays in a 27-6 victory over the Browns on Saturday night. Here...

Browns, Colts ready for longest preseason tuneup

Andrew Luck and Brandon Weeden have come a long way in a year. The two bright-eyed rookies who took turns staring at Hall of Fame busts during last summer's rookie symposium are now established starters and franchise cornerstones. So when they meet again Saturday night, Luck and Weeden will be following a different preseason script - playing at least one half and likely into...

Andrew Luck: Reggie Wayne is Still the Colts Leader

Being the #1 pick and heralded as the best quarterback prospect in years would have many people gain a huge ego. Subsequently it would only seem natural for a quarterback with that kind of hype to attempt to come into a team and take control. Surprisingly though, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has seemed to […]

Luke & Luck Top NFL’13 Soph-Watch

There were times in NFL 2012 when all of these guys were nothing short of sublime. Playing, not like the “R..O..O..K..I..E” imprint on their shiny, new, laminated Ass’n cards, but as if seasoned veterans who’d mastered the game, peerless in pursuit of wins and even having their names dropped into MVP talk on more than one Monday morning. Then, as it almost always does in...

Colts' best preseason feat may be getting healthy

Indianapolis already has two wins, has kept its last two opponents out of the end zone and has seen Andrew Luck make steady progress. The Colts' biggest feat this preseason may be simply getting healthy. In a preseason rife with injuries, the Colts have so far avoided taking the big blows and could open the season Sept. 8 against Oakland at or near full strength. ''...

NFL Preseason: Colts 27 Browns 6

The Browns dropped to 2-1 on the preseason with an uninspiring 27-6 loss in Indianapolis on Saturday night. As fun as the Browns starters were to watch during the team’s first two preseason games, Saturday night in Indianapolis was just the opposite. Through two and a half quarters Andrew Luck and the Colts outplayed the Browns starters  to the tune of 17-6. Weeden and Company...

NFL Division Preview – AFC South

The Houston Texans won their second straight AFC South division title, before falling short in the playoffs. The Texans have begun making the playoffs with regularity but now need to take that next step to becoming a Super Bowl contender. However, concerns literally ride on the back of Arian Foster. After winning just 2 games in 2011, the Colts, led by rookie quarterback Andrew Luck...

Colts' Anthony Castonzo has sprained knee ligament

Andrew Luck's protectors are now taking their own hits. Colts coach Chuck Pagano said Sunday that left tackle Anthony Castonzo will not play in the preseason finale after an MRI confirmed Castonzo has a mild sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee. Castonzo was injured on the opening series' of Saturday night's 27-6 victory over Cleveland and did not...

Sunday Six Pack: Reasons to stay optimistic following loss to Colts

With the Browns disappointing 27-6 loss to the Colts we’re likely to be left with a bad taste in our mouth leading all the way up to the opener on September 8th. The “dress rehearsal” was  a sobering reality check that  predictions of 11-5 and playing of “Bernie, Bernie” may have been a bit premature. Worst of all, I lost a bet on the game that will force me to be clean...
