Indianapolis Colts center Jeff Saturday clarified remarks attributed to him in which he said the team was outcoached in an embarrassing 62-7 loss at New Orleans on Sunday night.
The loss dropped to the Colts to a league-worst 0-7. They have floundered without superstar quarterback Peyton Manning, who may miss the entire season following neck surgery.
Saturday told Fox 59 TV that the Colts were outcoached, a criticism of third-year coach Jim Caldwell, who has received some criticism in the media for the team's poor showing.
“I didn’t say that,” Saturday said. “I said that as a team we were outplayed, we were outcoached and there was nothing that we did better than they did yesterday.
"I’ve been in this game way too long to try to lay the blame on anybody else. No coach put pads on, we did. We didn’t play well at all, and there’s no scapegoat in this. If you can’t look at all 53 guys and know that we all screwed it up, and we all got beat as bad as you can get beat. There are ...
